    Ayton was certainly a top 10 rotation person last year, I don't get that. Assuming still here at least to the deadline. And Jake WILL be. Book it!!

    He was but he will have a very different role and there's a lot of questions about how motivated he will be. We went far and beyond to find ways to motivate him as a starter already with the shirts and special drinks lol

    Let's remember he lost his place to Hayes in closing lineups multiple times. And I want to say in the starting lineup too?

    Anyway, hope he gives us good bench minutes, we really need it

    Same here for me. He had to resign AR and get Kessler as per Luka. He did those things. Arguably overpaid for both though. The rest of the roster additions are mediocre and all overpays. Unimpressive. C for doing the necessary only and nothing else worth noting at all.

    Just got some time to catch up and comment. I have a lot of thoughts, not many of them good.

    The last thing I said was, I bet Rob max’s Kessler and sends out both picks with nothing going out. And abeer said it wouldn’t make sense for there to not be salary going back. (Paraphrasing)

    Well our GM sent the picks and no players out. On top of that were the swaps necessary at all? I do like the salary though - 32.5 is a good pay for a defensive center of his calibre.

    Then he goes out and gives overpays to Mamu and Grimes and instead of 3 year deals with TO’s in year 3, we give them 4 year deals with player options? It’s almost like we should investigate if Rob secretly owns a player agency still.

    The worst thing about all of this is we don’t own our picks to 2032 and have this team locked in for 4 years with no way to improve apart from exemptions.

    To me this is how this team slots right now talent wise:

    1 - Luka
    2 - Reaves
    3 -
    4 - Kessler
    5 -
    6 - Grimes
    7 - Sexton
    8 - Mamu
    9 -
    10 - Ayton
    11 - Jake & Vando
    12 - Carr
    13 - Adou
    14 - Knecht
    15 - Bronny

    We’re not a contender. We have two bench pieces starting and then outside of Sexton and Ayton, a weak bench.

    We don’t really have defenders, Grimes isn’t a POA guy or shooters (Mamu is your best one right now).

    We would need to pick up Kuminga and Thybulle for minimums to balance the team out.

    exactly what I think

    also in addition to not getting better defensively apart from the Center position we also lost 3-point shooting, and we were already a bad shooting team.

    it's crazy work, people on the forum wanting to sell us that it was a good idea giving big 4-year contracts to guys who were reserves in worse teams than us, and rely on them to be starters here

    and if you point out that doesn't make any logical sense, you get called a negative nancy

    Yeah it's true. I just said this a few pages ago. Didn't see it on X, just did the math. It's the remaining contract number divided by double the contract years plus one.

    Oh that's right, we have to stay under the 1st apron. I rather use the apron room for flexibility. So Maybe we could take on an extra 2 or 3 mil, but that's it.

    That’s literally a Luka level trade. That’s the best Boston could do lol??? Surely teams like Detroit or Cleveland had better offers
