Hey, we don't need that kind of attitude here. Clean it up.

Honestly, even if he's top 10 in spending that's going to be a game changer for us. That is going to be the equivalent of Stanley Johnson popping like peak J-Rich on our roster because we had zero athleticism outside of him.

Reminder, we received a PPP load during Covid.

This is how we've been funding the team prior to Walter:

Point is, I was hoping to see more people in the building by now. Rob crypitcally said during his last presser that people had been hired but wouldn't go into details about what departments they were working in. I think it's safe to say they were not ones who received war room credentials and if Kurt gets one, street performers on Hollywood BLVD are deserving of one too.

Even operating at the baseline, we should've done better this week regarding staffing.

Right. We don't have to outspend everyone. We just need a modern, well staffed front office.

Problem we're likely running into with recruiting for the staff is that anyone in a good front office appears to be waiting to see how things play out and don't want to attach themselves to Pelinka and Kurt. I honestly don't fault them at all for this. I'd want guarantees my fate isn't tied with Rob's. But even that's difficult to do as no doubt if you bring in a new guy they will want their own people.

We should have just ripped the bandaid off and started from scratch but I suspect that part of the deal with Jeannie involved not immediately booting everyone out the door.

Either way, we're here now and we have to hope the current crew finds a way to get things done.

The new staff is coming but I also wish it was a faster process.

that and rob getting luka. really hard to fire someone shortly after that.

i wonder if walter has any outside consultants he trusts re: installing guardrails for this summer. it's clear that rob is on a very hot seat, and that's sometimes how big mistakes get made. this is how mozdengs are born. so i'm hoping that they've approved a general strategy (e.g., chasing RFAs, etc.) but said that if the initial plan fails, we're not say, giving up any picks for bandaids, nor are we signing any long-term deals, and also you're fired.
