Miami is a better fit than Boston, right now, I think. So glad that happened.

NOW....who they build around Bam and Giannis to COMPETE is what I am curious about. This Miami team gets into the playoffs, but I don't think they easily walk into the Finals over anyone else in the East.

You can't go to a place they don't allow you. Claxton became a Minny player. Makes no sense for them to send it to us for free.
We could never get in on that deal.

You can be mad we didn't go to Nets directly with a better offer than Randle. I don't see how we have one unless we throw 2 firsts and no player back. Don't love that deal.

We got unlucky but there's a ton of options and I have to say we won in this deal actually. Minny got weaker, Bulls and Nets used part of their cap space. Couldn't be better

Hopefully it’s a busy news day for the Lakers and not just click bait rumors.

We're probably going to be using most of our cap space, on our own players.

I'm glad he went to Miami, they have some serious rebuilding to do without any assets or young players. I don't think they contend with Giannis.

Boston would have been a problem, he would be slotting into a team that were Champions 2 years ago and that have been crying out for a high-level interior presence.

f*** Boston though, I'd choose living in Miami over Boston every time

I just had a bad thought that we sign a bunch of 1-year deals to bring most team back and a couple upgrades and target 2027.
Kessler and Dort are UFAs. Ant may be asking out. We have 3 picks and 3 swaps to trade
    I really hope not

Just beyond Tatum, who else would have been on that team to make them instant Contenders. At least with Miami, your Backcourt and Rim Protection and what not is LOCKED....but now you gotta build out a Front Court to make it work.

Tatum and Giannis would have been a DUO...I agree, just with how well they DIDN'T do in the Playoffs this year....I don't think replacing Brown with Giannis would increase them THAT well.

    That's just my opinion though.

I may actually crash out hard if that were to be the case.

Ant MIGHT request a trade but I can't believe that would be right now....that would HAVE to be a next year thing. Like end of the season or Trade Deadline or whatever. I feel like we should treat this year as it is and then find a way to have enough assets to try for him at the Deadline or next off-season than expect that to happen without cause.

Again, PLEASE MARK WALTERS......KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH US LIKE YOU DO WITH THE DODGERS and don't live in the past off of Lakers Nostalgia that everyone will just come to the Lakers for pennies. DO THE RESEARCH AND DON'T WAIT FOR LATER. DON'T LET JEANIE AND PELINKA TELL YOU that you need to. We are in THE NOW.

pika beat me to it a bit, but he didn't go for free. bkn got randle and moved up 5 spots in the draft. we would have been offering vando. not the same.

agree somewhat, but i'm guessing minny still has stuff up their sleeve. they now have a ton of wiggle room, the full MLE, and a huge TE. they can add two rotation players.

agree. enough can-kicking. i was on board up until now. watching teams that went all-in like minny continue to just freely maneuver has me even more convinced that you can't punt again.

with the word picking up that NO is serious about moving murphy and herb, mostly for draft picks, i began to wonder who else is available there. like, murphy's a very nice 3rd option on a salary lower than most third options. why move him for picks unless you're blowing things up?

i'd be down for zion, particularly if lebron walked. yeah, he's problematic for a variety of reasons, but talk about a ceiling raiser.

i'm also still interested in dejounte murray.

I CAN NOT take ANY MORE OFF-SEASON BS of "We have a plan for Summer of X"

That DAMN 2007 Off-Season plan scarred me hard enough that I never want to hear that statement or sentiment again.

Do it now or agree you f***** up. No more planning for the future. No more believing that people will just COME to the Lakers because we are the Lakers. We don't do that anymore. Mark Walter better know this to be the case and ACTUALLY handle things better and correctly. We aren't doing this anymore. We are washing our hands of the past, while honoring it, and actually doing this as they are TODAY.

Which how many different "Plan for Summer of X" plans were there after that. It was like 2007 and then 2010 and then 2012 or something? Fricken Mitch and Jim Buss man.......SO STUPID!

I have a sneaky suspicion that the Jazz are either going to get AJ or Boozer tonight. Not sure how, but I think that is how this is going to play out.

one route would be...using their #2 overall pick on one of them?

    :p

No, I mean like...if AJ goes #1, I think they take Boozer. If Darryn goes #1, then yeah...they are taking AJ.

I was meaning it more of, Washington is sort of the Wild Card right now with who they choose.

Also, I was pointing this out because though all the Draft Boards and everyone agrees that Darryn is definitely a Top 2 talent, I think most people are right in their observation that Utah doesn't need him. Where Utah COULD REALLY USE AJ or Boozer, not just by association, though it helps, but due to needs.

So either Darryn goes #1 or #3...I think.

Ayo needs to fire his agent. $22 million per year is criminally underpaid for a rising young player who is super efficient and effective everywhere.

Surprised he couldn't get more or wait a bit longer.

Losing Powell as well unless Powell takes a huge discount.

They got Bobby Portis in the trade too but man, if they don't pull out a ring in the next couple of years, Miami will have lost a lot of young talent and picks for nothing.

Giannis's health is really questionable right now and I'm not really sure how the fit with Bam/Giannis will be since neither can shoot. The defense will be elite, though.

I really like this deal for Milwaukee. Jaime is going to be a very good player and Herro can probably be flipped for a more younger talent and get some draft compensation as well.

twolves appear to be getting worse each year

I guess the one caveat is maybe they're banking on giving Shannon big minutes. I frankly love his potential but it's a big risk as that dude cannot do anything with his right hand and the jumper can come and go
