The off season has officially started. The Knicks finally got one after a 53 year wait. The Thunder have a billion picks to work with. The Spurs may never lose again if Wemby figures it out and develops some 48 minute endurance. Giannis is about to make some Leastern Conference team stronger. But, none of that matters. What matters is how our FO navigates a very challenging off season.
Unless you want to hyperventilate and raise the white flag in advance of all of it if AR’s yearly average is around 40M? Which we won’t know until some point maybe not immediately. But then you risk running behind here those with the serious head start.
I like most of our players from last year, but I seriously hope we do not run it back, as we looked totally outclassed against OKC People who think we would have been competitive with Luka are missing the fact that they were also missing their 2nd best player. It's not particularly close.
432G I loved the Anthony Davis Trade. I just thought we didn’t have to give up Hart. You remember Magic and Rob the Lakers were adamant about keeping Kuzma. We could’ve still got Hart and got AD we just traded the wrong guy. Hart developed into one of the best 3-Ds in the league. And If you remember Pelinka and the Lakers all talked about how they valued Harts experience and winning culture at Villanova and how he would play on the Lakers. I even remember the suit he wore at the Lakers press conference on spectrum when Guiter was talking to him. lol. but hey we got AD so all good. As for this off season. I think my priority is bringing Hachimura back. I don’t want to wait for Lebron and lose Rui to a team. obviously brining Reaves back. I think he’ll come back at a good number. Brooklyn is really f***ing s*** up and will make us over pay. But I think he wants to be here and we have exclusive negotiating rights. Anything with Brooklyn would happen after talks broke down. I think we get a deal done right before free agency. And personally I think he’s back on a max. I’m not sure what that does to what we can do. But I think it will be something like 5 yrs.180 million. I think Ayton opts in. and Lebron does a 1 yr. Deal 35 million we’ll see how they put the numbers in. And hopefully we can come up with some creative stuff. looking at Porzingis and Williams and Thuybulle maybe a trade for Kuzma late second rounder.
Things look like they’re heating up. Bostons going to want to do something big. So Gianiss by draft night. But now rumors are Miami wants to have a deal done with Gianiss by draft night. I think the Knicks winning the championship has sent Boston into a frenzie. Would Boston be willing to part with Pritchard and Brown???? Boston could be going for something big a trade we haven’t even heard of. Is that Lauri? Jamal Murray for Jaylon Brown? Paolo Banchero. We shall see.
One thing these NBA playoffs have proven the NBA finals with the Spurs and The Knicks is you need Shot Makers. I can’t stress that enough. Rui has gone off in the playoffs. He’s a clutch player. As we saw from OG in game 1 if you get hot and you can make them you impact your team. Rui was insane for us against OKC. He does a lot defends and can really shoot that 3. I really do hope we bring him back. I think he’s an important player for us. And Luka. Nice 3 yr. Deal. He’s earned it. And looking at Lebron I want him back for 1 more year. But retirement is around the corner. And we definitely need a replacement for him Rui is that. Luka is a shot maker so is Rui. Luka and Rui need to be on a team together. Adding Reaves. You have a foundation of Luka Reaves and Rui. That’s solid. we are trying to win championships. With Luka. You gotta have Lebron. He’s clutch in the playoffs and the finals. In the finals you’ll need buckets LeBron can deliver.
Luka >>>> than OKC's 2nd best Williams. That's an odd statement. Sure would liked to have seen our big 3 healthy and rest of the team too for whatever depth we could muster but that didn't happen. IF they get LeBron to take big pay cut to be able with all our options to add just 2-3 more quality players leaning to defense and athleticism, that won't be played off the floor in playoffs, then the gap is MUCH smaller. Big IF though and we don't know that LeBron will be back.
i can see why at the time they preferred keeping kuzma over hart. or maybe they did offer kuzma but NO insisted on hart in the trade whatever, they got a ring out of it
I dont think you need to worry about that. Lebron and Austin will be back. Rui might be the casualty. Lakers will also look to trade Van, Dalton and maybe Ayton if they see someone they prefer. Smart it depends on cost.
