It’s a bit different if we’re being honest isn’t it though. Dallas offered him 4 years 55 million total. That would be like us offering Reaves 5 years and 100m today. There’s a big gap between insulting and fair. If we gave him 5 years 200m. That’s starting at 35m per, I’d hope he wouldn’t be offended by that - because it is a respectable offer.

It’s basically Vando, Rui, a first and a swap for PJ Washington and DJJ.

DJJ would probably be starting at the 3 and PJ would be the backup 4. Not sure how I feel about this trade to be honest. I like the guys we get though.

it was the most they could offer, and it was the exact deal he requested a few months prior. so, it's not unlike the max extension we actually did offer reaves last summer that we all knew he'd turn down. difference is that at that point, EVERYONE knew reaves was worth more than that, whereas people were most certainly not sure about brunson at the same stage. boggles my mind how quickly people forget the state of affairs over time. truly amazing, tbh, and part of why i devoted my professional life to trying to understand it.

and i'll repeat that dallas lost nash because they wanted him at 4/40 and he left for 5/65. this is the same thing people are talking about with reaves taking 35 instead of 41. just...who cares, man? you appeal for less, deftly, but you better be prepared to pay more.

WHAT??? There’s disagreement that go on for days about how LeBron isn’t appreciated, we should worship the ground he walks on because he “saved” this franchise etc. There’s tons of outrage that has gone on for years in my opinion.

I think Mitch Johnson is an idiot.

because Wemby is “7,6” and you repeatedly have him standing on the 3 point line.

every play 100/100 times you should be running rim runs at the rim. Him catching it at the basket. He’s either getting fouled going to the free throw line. Or he’s scoring at the basket or kicking out for 3’s. Stop trying to make him Dirk. Let him assert himself at the basket.

That final play. Why isn’t it something at the basket like a lob. Or pick and roll at the basket? Post. Fox going to the basket. They either have a lob with Wemby at the rim. Or if they’re taking away the lob. A layup with Fox at the rim.

That’s why he’s an idiot because he’s not seeing things that are obvious.

New York tampered so bad they shouldn’t even have Gotten Brunson. It was terrible.

They were all in him. They were openly talking. His dad was the coach. They shouldn’t have been able to sign him period. It’s a joke the stuff they do to us about Tampering. This was horrible. But it’s the hypocritical NBA.

Except Reaves said last year that he wanted to be back and wasn’t asking for the max, he jsut wanted something fair. I’m not trying to take money out of his pocket, I think athletes should be paid fairly - it’s jsut that if you want to win with a salary cap, small discounts go a long way.

Reaves at 35m may mean we can pull off a trade with our pieces while still retaining the rest of the team. It’s also why I don’t believe Lebron should be paid more than 25-30m even though he is still performing at or close to a max level.

Lebron and Reaves should split 60m.

100% agree, if you're feeding Wemby near the rim, even with his limited post game, it's almost a guarantee he's getting fouled.

Based on your Reaves comment above about sacrifices, how much money should LeBron make or sacrifice? I’ve had people say 20 million is an insult.

I would ask LeBron to take a 60% pay to 25m.

And I would ask Reaves to take a 20% cut to 35m.

I would also hope Luka would be happy with the max and not the supermax. At what point do players say, well making 50m a year is more than enough and I just want to win. Because you add up the whole team sacrificing and ifs the difference between a 2nd round exit and a ring or two.

I’m sorry if this is rude, but are their forum rules about how many consecutive unanswered posts you can make in a row?

people do know you can edit a post and just add to it right?

My insider contacts of the Spurs say they can neither confirm nor deny, but they’d give me the 411 after the series is over. ;)

My friends a Knick fan. He said he heard Fox punched Harper because Harper posted Fox stat line on his social media.

From a team stand point it sounds good but thats the nba wanting to limit players $$. So the players would ask themselves why take less? You can be traded away playing in a city you dont like or a team thats not a contender. ex If Austin can get more $$ max it dont work out and Lakers in the end decides to trade him across town to a team like Hornets a year later. Wont he feel like a Butt?

Well, I was only joking about having contacts, but this only makes sense if it was regarding game one

his game two box score looks solid

Harper is a heck of a young talent, but if he did this to try to make a point or show somebody up, it speaks to his youth and immaturity.

Fox had a better box score than him in game two, so maybe lessons learned to the young fella

I look for the Lakers to sign Landry Shamett to a free agent deal in the off-season.

Fair point, I'm not opposed, his highlights look good. I think @Hurricane Billy said he went to the ACC tournament. I wonder if he saw Veesaar play in person?
