i think both williams and robinson have put in great efforts heading into their FA years, but maaannn....they both worry me a lot. almost to the point of let someone else sign them, then circle back to accept them in a salary dump later.

you don't want to be in the buy-high group, ever.

if anything, look for guys that had disappointing postseasons that contrast with overall patterns (e.g., suggs).

i know i'm in the extreme minority here, of course, but i'm just super wary of cinderellas.

I don't think Sacramento would deal with us, but you never know?

Maybe we could do Ayton, Vando and S&T Rui for Sabonis? For example:

    Luka (49.5) / Kennard (x) / Bronny (2.3)
    Reaves (20.9) / Smart (x) / Knecht (4.2)
    x / Jake (6) / Adou (2.1)
    Lebron (x) / Rui (x) / Vando (12.4)
    x / Ayton (8.1) / Hayes (x)

    1. We could trade Vando, Ayton & Rui (S&T to 20M) (40.5) for Sabonis (45.5)

    2. Offer Smart 6.5m, Kennard 9m, Hayes 4m and Lebron 20m

    3. Offer Timelord 10m from the MLE and Spencer Jones 5.1m

    4. Offer Reaves the max

    Luka (49.5) / Kennard (9) / Bronny (2.3)
    Reaves (41) / Jake (6) / Knecht (4.2)
    Smart (6.5) / Spence (6) / Vet Min (2.5)
    Lebron (20) / Adou (2.1)
    Sabonis (45.5) / Timelord (10) / Hayes (4)

Timelord will give you 20m a game. So you'll be playing Sabonis at the PF for some of that time.

    Luka (34mins) / Kennard (14m)
    Reaves (34m) / Kennard (10m) / Smart (4m)
    Smart (20m) / Spence (20m) / Adou (8)
    Lebron (30m) / Sabonis (12m) / Adou (6)
    Sabonis (20m) / Timelord (18m) / Hayes (10m)

I would think of it more that they're given up one of their golden childs (drafted by the celts, grew up with the celts, won FMVP iwth the celts) and they decided to go with the other golden boy instead. I mean it's easy to imagine them betting on Tatum who gets hurt again and the lakers with Brown and Luka ripping thru teams

(I agree I don't think this happens as Brown wants be a #1)

I’m completely out on both Rob Will and Robinson because they are ticking time bombs.

I want Mitchell Robinson. What I’m watching in the playoffs. A fool wouldn’t want that. He’s one of the primary Reasons Wemby can’t do what he’s doing on offense. He’s lengthy he’s got size. And he’s big and strong. He can run and he’s an athletic big.

He’s the Center yall talking about rolling big.

now is the offense there? Nope. But looks like Daniel Gafford.

I’m out on Robert Williams. The Knicks are going to win the championship. Give me Mitchell Robinson. I understand regress after a championship. I get it he’s Javelle McGee but boy can this guy play.

I like Mitchell Robinson, but he isn't the reason Wemby isn't doing what he wants. Robinson has played 13 mins and 14 mins in the first two games while Wemby is averaging 39 mins.

Both guys are only good for 20 mins a game at 50 games a year. You can't build a center rotation around either guy being your main guy.

I think you have to account for variance both good and bad. I would add a few other factors to consider - I think you should look for guys performing in an expanded role (that maybe buying high but that worked for Billups and Hartenstein) or guys underperforming in roles that are too big for them (Aaron Gordon)

In that case I'm worried about Suggs and Spencer Jones - seems like they were put into pretty good slots for their abilities and they didn't do well?
