Ahhhhhhh you’re a hall of famer!!!!! I knew you saw it. I was going crazy. Like wait who the f*** is that??? All that talent in San Antonio??? This ain’t L.A. it ain’t crypto. All that orange and white was definitely banging and she knew it. All that leg action and thigh. I’m like well damn Wemby is single they must be on him. But yeah it was nice to see.

If it wasn't for Wemby's unreal game 1, this could have been a sweep. f***ing OKC really is 12 deep, my gawd. They don't even need these 3 extra guys helping them all the time...

if SA wins game 4, it's a 3-game series. fox's injury has been a pretty big deal, imo, as okc is doing what they did with us and pressuring our collection of non-pgs in ways that really short-circuit the offense. harper was actually their best ballhandler after him, but then he got hurt, too. castle's not a pg; he's a sg who can handle a little bit. and vassell's not even that. that's tough against okc. they're just making it hard to even get it to wemby in advantageous spots.

offensively, i didn't think caruso would just go steph curry for a full series, but that appears to be what's happening. he's 14-23 from three. he shot 29% in the regular season and basically the same against us in the previous round. this is crucial because of his defensive impact. jared mccain scoring has been the story, but the truth is that okc has to hide him on defense, so he HAS to score efficiently. caruso dropping 60% of his threes on high volume is pure gravy coming at the right time.

Can we slow down on anointing Wemby as the GOAT? Dominant game one, and fading: four rebounds in a critical game when you are a foot taller than everyone.

i think i said after game 1 that i was curious to see if he could do it for the whole series, as he looked tired as hell, and the effects might compound. that may be what's going on. i didn't see a lot of game 3, but in game 2, i felt like he just wasn't making as many super human plays. even down the stretch in game 1, he was being very judicious about challenging shots, going as far as letting SGA just walk to the rim on a key possession rather than try to challenge and recover. i get that some of that is scheme, but you have to feel like energy was a component.

guy averaged 29mpg in the regular season (and in the first two rounds of the playoffs--though the previous round was influenced by the ejection) and has now played 49, 37, and 39 minutes in this series. it may be that he is the GOAT--but not for 40mpg.

    Yeah agreed.

Wemby is tiring out with all these minutes he's playing. Doesn't help Kornet and his backups are nearly useless and the Spurs get blown out on non Wemby minutes.

What Jeanie Buss did might go down as the worst move in Lakers history. It is up there.

    player moves.

letting Caruso go and leave this franchise to keep THT.

yall talk Russell Westbrook but damn really????? The guy wanted to stay begged to stay told his agents make it work with the Lakers and they had no interest.

this guy is our baby babe Ruth and I’m talking when he left the Sox.

all you young guys look it up. Babe Ruth won a World Series for Boston and was sold to the Yankees.

Alex Caruso won us a championship and essentially was sold by Jeanie Buss to the Bulls because she didn’t want to pay the luxury tax.

to me the guy is one of the best two way players in Basketball. We got him undrafted.

Wemby is on Laker watch until he wins a championship. Simple as that and OKC is in his way.

This is the kind of s*** that gets hall of famers to the Lakers.

Laker fans have patience. Keep building. Get complimentary players around Luka.

    Luka Watson

    Luka Reaves.

Adou Thiero is perfect for Wemby

Wemby Luka together will be huge. Because with Luka you can’t blitz Wemby.

see Wemby needs the guy that makes teams back the f*** off because his shooting. That’s Steph that’s Luka. By the time Wemby decides to leave Steph will be out of the league.

only one place L.A. Hollywood Wemby Doncic Luka. We are the big man university

    Magic Kareem

    Kobe Shaq

    Luka Wemby.

    book it.

Lakers really should take a look at Aaron Wiggins. He would be good for them.

See in half court playoff basketball you need Luka.

we can talk about Fox and Castle and Harper probably Harper more.

but in the playoffs you need perimeter shooting in the half court. From your guards. Who does that there??? Gianiss ain’t helping that.

Luka is the man for that. Against teams in the playoffs a Luka Wemby pick and roll would be unguardable because if you bring two guys at Wemby and park in the paint Luka will destroy you from outside of the perimeter. That’s the Basketball intricacies that they don’t talk about.

The bigger question is does he hold up at that height and frame, knees especially with how he plays. Past history of super tall players in the NBA there aren't a whole lot that have and none 6" taller than KD who wanted to play like KD.

But I agree with "Not even close to his prime yet. What is he 4 years from now when he is stronger and smarter and only 26"

This is my projection for Bronny as well who comes with genes and mental tutoring from one of an unbelievable physical specimen kind .... Pops. It was discussed on here years ago .... man muscles vs not yet mature muscles. And that's just the start of their primes.

SIMPLE NO TRADE / WORT-CASE SCENARIO PLAN

The free-agent market is weak, but it's decent in terms of the 3 and D and LOB and D players we are looking for. If you waive and stretch Ayton and LaRavia, you essentially open up FOUR salary slots worth 15-16 million each. Worse scenario, if Lakers are unable to get teams to take on trash in trades and Lebron leaves:

    (1) Draft Ugonna Oneyeso with #25. He is 7'0 237, and has a 9'5 standing reach. Last season he averaged 5.7 blocks per 36 minutes. He is also an excellent lob-threat. Check out his highlight videos. College, but 10 lob-threat and 10 defender.

    (2) Waive and stretch Ayton and Laravia. Pay them a combined 4.7 million in dead money over the next three seasons. That's not too bad.

    (3) Sign Quentin Grimes to a deal starting at 16 million. I would grade him roughly as an 8 shooter and 8 defender.

    (4) Sign Rui to a deal starting at 16 million to replace Lebron at the 4. He is a 10 shooter and 5 defender.

    (5) Sign Robert Williams to a deal starting at 15 million. He is a 10 lob-catcher and a 10 defender.

    (6) Sign Smart to a deal starting at 14 million. 7 shooter and 10 defender.

    (7) Sign Ellis to the Room-Exception at 9.4 million. Context, but 9 shooter and 9 defender.

None of these players are really elite, but they are elite at the two-way skill sets we are looking at, except for Rui. But the power-forward market is a bit scarce, and we know his post-season play is just so overwhelmingly strong, that its worth it. Plus, the defenders around him help mitigate his shortcomings there.

I hope he stays healthy and becomes one of the all time greats. But there are people out there who are already goating him and he hasn't even made a Finals yet.

I find myself tiring of SAS always seeming to tank right before these generational talents become available and then somehow manage to win the lotto's to select them. Robinson, Duncan and Wemby. If injuries happened I would be sad for the player but not the organization.
