I have said many times that Austin is a really good player but I have yet to see his supporters admit to his obvious flaws. If I missed this admission I apologize. A lot to read and remember
You're the one that need to come up with names. You mentioned Trae, @abeer3 what's the site you use for the LEBRON stats? So Vince, who are these "offense-only players who can't play well in the playoffs" bracket that AR is part of, in addition to Trae?
I dont need to come up with anything. I gave you a direct comparison that is not that far off. But here you go: DeRozan Cam Thomas not at same level, but the fact that he was a 24ppg scorer with decent efficiency the year before and he got waived, speaks volumes as to how little offensive-only players are valued right now in the NBA.
. Seriously? I never said he doesn’t make mistakes and or TOs or get picked. You DID say he “couldn’t” get by the playoff defenders into the paint and to score at the rim. Mocking the video just posted showing and making an intelligent article about the importance of him doing it for the team with 6 different plays showing him doing it. How disengenuous can you get.
This “debate” is just devolving. One side provides facts while the other doesn’t. It became trolling pages ago. When someone backs up their claim by using +\- stats, you know their case is paper thin.
I said can’t and struggled and I just posted video showing both.So what I just posted video of him being terrible at it. I showed video just like you did.Your video didn’t bother me why does mine bother you?
as opposed to cherry picking stats and footage? Jesus! and I was replying to a dude who brought up his physical stats as if that could somehow excuse his bad playoff performances. guys he shot 40/25, with 27 turnovers in 6 games, HE WAS BAD, you're defending the indefensible.
This is what happens on most of these boards. You go against the echo chamber and suddenly the name calling starts and the virtue signaling.Happens a lot
Some would say that when you have to resort to name calling and vulgarities you no longer have a logical argument to appeal to.I wouldn’t say that but some would
I said that this thread sucks and it sucks because of people like you who can't just state their opinion and move on. You make everything personal and you seem to be starting arguments with everyone who won't kiss your arse. You don't mean s*** to me. You will be ignored after this, F people like you.
I make it personal lol. I don’t agree with echo chamber and you guys have a hissy fit. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad that adults can’t control their emotions
It’s pretty funny how the phrase “echo chamber” gets thrown around when it’s the same 2 people repeating the same tired argument over and over. Advanced analytics get ignored but just on the last page we were told that +/- is a stat that “actually matters and translates to winning basketball games.” People don’t get annoyed with disagreement. They get annoyed with weak, bad faith arguments.
That +/- comment was in response to someone using Reaves’ physical profile as evidence that he can play winning basketball in the playoffs. So I find it interesting that the +/- argument gets mocked as “paper thin,” but the physical tools argument that preceded it apparently passes as serious analysis. That’s the inconsistency @52years was mentioning above. The point is that Reaves had a bad playoff series: 40% from the field, 25% from three, 27 turnovers in 6 games, and he was repeatedly targeted defensively. He also had pretty weak series against Minny the year before, and Denver the year before that. You can make up all the excuses you want, but these are facts. You can still like him as a player and admit that. I’ve said plenty of times he’s a good player and don't think we should let him walk. But just because I voiced the opinion that he's not a great fit to be a #2 with Luka, and I think we probably can't win with that combo, that apparently triggers the hell out of you and others. What I don’t see from his biggest defenders is any willingness to seriously discuss the flaws without immediately framing the criticism as trolling or bad faith. Like we all have to be in this circle jerk, and sing the Kumbaya, and if anyone has any reservations, they get immediately targeted. That’s what actually feels like bad faith.
Absolutely correct. I've also seen on other forums that if you go against the narrative of the heaviest posters on touchy subjects, the pitchforks are out immediately. I guess it's human nature.
why? what does this do? we're back to what's the point of the b****ing about reaves? unless the argument is that we must let him walk unless he meets our price, it's kind of a pointless debate. why isn't reaves jaylen brown? i don't know. it would be better if reaves were jaylen brown (who will make nearly 30% more than reaves's maximum salary next year, btw). but all the salary lists have been provided to no avail. reaves will sign for whatever the lakers and he can agree to, and the fans will have to live with it because every other alternative is definitely worse. like, you don't get anything good in outgoing sign and trades, for reasons that have again been explained like, six or seven times just in the past few pages of this thread. if he walks into air, you're absolutely screwed. an argument can be made you want his salary high just in case you can use him along with picks when the #2 guy of your choice actually does become available. like, if reaves signs for 30 million, we're going to have to add two players who are probably contributors to trade for a disgruntled superstar on a supermax (which is really the only way to upgrade on reaves anyway). if he signs for 30 million, the role players he brings in can only add to that total. anyway, someone asked which site i like to use for stats, and it's this: https://www.bball-index.com/lebron-application/ you have to futz with the filters a bit to get what i often post, but it's pretty fun to play with.
