The preponderance of evidence says he’s a terrible shooter.5 seasons in he’s a career 42% shooter from the floor and 33% from 3.
14 career playoff games 35% from the floor and 26% from 3

I thought so too, but then I checked, he makes $30M+ per year. That's going to be a no.

His shooting was horrific this series as well. Lakers maybe better throwing an offer to anthony black and see if ORL can match

It's worked in the past - Billups being a bust then after having a breakout season was signed by Detroit. Same thing with Arenas

Awesome to see Ant back already, hopefully he's actually healthy enough to be playing and this doesn't hurt him down the road. If he's close to his normal level, that becomes a really interesting series. I think the Spurs win, but I think this is the series where we start to see some vulnerability in their halfcourt offense. I think the Wolves will probably at some point try guarding Wemby with Randle and have Gobert help off of Castle, which is something teams tried in the regular season (guarding Wemby with a forward and putting their center on Castle) to limited success. Castle responded to it pretty well in the regular season, if he makes enough shots to render that plan ineffective I think the Spurs are winning the title.

i don't know which player we're talking about now. keon ellis is consistently a 40% three point shooter and top 10% or better defender, and the word lately is he's junk bc cleveland is playing its other (much more expensive and hard to trade) guards ahead of him.

i'm big on buying low. everyone wanted us to buy high on DFS a couple years ago, too.

I meant in regards to Suggs. It would be a buy-low opportunity. Black had a shot a little better than Suggs. I was just making light of the "oh that guy is playing good lets get him, that other guy is playing bad, ship his a** out". I also hear a lot of this negative stuff about Ellis. I'm thinking, why not buy-low on him with the Room exception?

yeah, minny keeps leveling up in the playoffs, so you can't count them out. guessing SA will try to make randle make the most important decisions on both ends.

People here don't seem to like that guy. I hear a lot of critique about his frame. I get it to an extent, but it's not the NFL for crying out loud.

we're on the same team here. and if orlando agrees that suggs is unsalvageable, maybe they take vando/knecht and a single 1st for him?

i feel like many teams have gotten burned chasing the previous year's playoff heroes who leveled up for a series or two despite being mostly junk all year. then being really mad when they player returns to junk level for the life of the new contract.

yes, the "dies on screens" narrative gained a ton of steam because folks watched it happen against us a couple times. not sure how someone so bad consistently is a 90+ percentile defender. maybe dying on screens is good?

anyway, he's a good on-ball defender who can make catch and shoot threes. someone like that who is built like a linebacker is not available to us.

oh no, i'd take suggs, too. he has been a largely bad shooter, true, but his last healthy season, he shot 39% on 5 attempts per game. he's an 80% ft shooter, so i think he can do it. the real issue with him is the injuries. that makes it a bigger gamble and why i'd want vando outgoing in any suggs deal.

but he reminds me a little of aaron gordon, who early in his career was considered overpaid because he was a bad shooter and he had started to miss some games iirc. denver got him and he flourished almost immediately and was healthy until the last couple years.

anyway, suggs may not be the right guy, but the best version of him is, imo. and those guys just don't come available very often.

Ellis just sucks man..give it up. He's been banished to the bench for Shroeder, in two places in a row now. Maybe it's just HIM?

I tell you an example of when taking a poor playoffs performance seriously, is a good idea... Tinkerbell!!

If you watch his games, it's pretty obvious why he ends up on the bench. He's soft a** hell, that's not a good thing for an elite perimeter defender. Oh.. he starts out pretty good, but set a couple picks on him, and he promptly disappears.
