i think we're a threat to offer him that, so they'll have to pay him that, and yes, that puts them right against the second apron. good news for them is that their team is pretty nicely put together. i don't think they can move ddv into cap space easily, and tbh, with how people are just recovering from achilles tears these days, he may come back for next year's playoffs a la tatum.

anyway, no way minny makes that deadline trade without fully intending to re-sign dosunmu.

but as svtzr implies, there's another dosunmu out there. people weren't talking about him like this last may.

I don’t know how much I like Cam Johnson, like, I get the thought of him. But he just seems above average and not really a breakthrough in any one area.

You’re completely right about Dosunmu, I also feel like NAW was a bit under appreciated till this year too. That guy was dying for some extra usage and a bigger role. And Atlanta locked him in for MLE money - just crazy.

I think both Grimes and Ellis have a chance to break through too. There’s probably half a dozen diamonds out there waiting for a chance to shine. I also think Jake’s going to look like a really savvy pickup next year when he levels out offensively. Adou is probably also going to get some rotation minutes and he very well could break out into our own version of OG.

when bkn was asking for eleven picks for him, i repeatedly said it was an overpay. but i think he'd fit great here, tbh. we don't need him to stand out. but he's not the exact archetype i'm after, either. doesn't matter, as denver will do anything to keep him out of here, imo.

in fairness, some of us (as well as others in the press, etc.) thought NAW had more potential and wanted to sign him. there was a lot of chatter about trying to use the mle to get him if DFS opted out, but he signed for over the mle, so we had no shot, which sucked. he would have been perfect here.

yeah, i'm still interested in both grimes and ellis, and both are UFAs. i hope cleveland reads too much into ellis's non-impact in the playoffs and becomes the 12th team to briefly fall into the schroder trap. i think the grimes dream is dead, though, as the sixers have full bird rights and traded mccain. when they still had mccain, i thought we could steal grimes, but they can pay him and have a good bit of wiggle room under the aprons to do it.

i also agree that thiero has massive potential and laravia will improve offensively.

we need to find the young djj that the mavs found. who's the athletic wing that has slipped through the cracks or has been deemed to have a fatal flaw? orlando's got that cain character playing playoff minutes for them off the scrapheap. how many of those guys are out there right now? several. we need to be the team that finds one.

Well yes that was the year they beat GSW, pretender Grizzlies and Denver 0-4. Since then its 1 game last playoffs. To put it in perspective we had Davis and Lebron.

I don’t get the fascination with Austin Reaves.Yes he is a very good player but so are Harden,Booker and Jamal Murray and these are players he is comparable to.Would you think those guys were enough next to Luka? I wouldn’t

They confirmed a lot of the same stuff we have been saying:
    • 48-51 million in cap-room
    • Watson is going to take 32-33 million to potentially pry him away
    • We could operate over the cap or under the cap
    • Kennard has non-bird rights- could get raise up to 13.2 million if we operate over the cap
    • Kennard could potentially get the room exception
    • Lebron not likely to take a huge pay-cut
I was surprised they didn't really go into what Smart would cost to brin him back.
