It might be regardless, but yeah losing AR would be adding salt to the wound.

Question, anyone know what happened? Was it contact or not? I just saw him grabbing his side but couldn’t see what caused it. A minute later Luka was grabbing his hammy. One two punch there.

AR has to score 60pts a game or we're cooked if Luka is out.

Bronny can only carry us so far.

whoever is lucky enough to face the lakers in round one will be getting the equivalent of a bye week

Austin getting injured was way more likely/predictable than Luka .

This kind of injury sure wasn't though

Good lord man, just a horrendous end to a season that had looked so positive. Whoever faces us gets essentially a first round bye. I genuinely feel bad for LeBron at this point.

Well, I guess it's up to Dalton and Bronny to carry the team.

The only bright side is there’s no way AR gets a max contract now. Opens us up to spend a few more dollars on another player.

maybe a tiny bit if we end up running into apron stuff, but not much. only benefit to reaves having sub-max is marginal stuff down the road. does almost nothing to this summer.

his health issues will probably ding his contract a bit, though.

I honestly think AR gets the max, it’s going to start at about $40m per and in his 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons under it, he’ll still be good value relative to the cap.

AR is not signing into cap space. He's signing into the tax towards the 1st apron. It may impact down the line but this summer there's probably no impact

I think we should be able to get him below the max. It's not like he has much options, only at the MLE he can get a competitive scenario. I think around the 35M mark with the contract growing each year is probably a good scenario for both

yeah, i'd still be surprised if we sign him to sub-max, i suppose.

guessing management will maybe try to sell him on either a slightly under-max (if it can help this summer's plans) or a declining deal that starts at max (to add a little wiggle room in later years).

from his standpoint, this will likely be his one huge contract, so i understand if his agent just wants full max without any other discussion.
