It's either Luka or Jokic should be MVP
JOKIĆ OFFICIALLY AVERAGES A TRIPLE-DOUBLE IN THE 2025-26 SEASON

With 12 assists in tonight's victory, Nikola Jokić has now officially averaged a triple-double on the season. He joins Russell Westbrook as the only players in NBA HISTORY to average a triple-double in back-to-back seasons!
but no way freaking FT merchant

    Jokic is ridiculous

Just kind of bothers me that a guy like Lebron is still this good at this age (and maybe even looking at last year where he more of a primary option) - with 3 point shooting, spacing, and increased pace - hard to see how Lebron Miami type wouldn't have put up bonker numbers in this era. this of course applies to other great players who got stuck in the Riley Knicks aftermath era

Speaking of "Lean Mean Slovenian Scoring Machine" .... he IS looking even a bit leaner these days and so is LeBron, like maybe around 10lbs? In any event these 2 alpha superstars are feeding off each other now and ready to kick some a** in the playoffs health willing.

I agree with you. Jokic is just incredible. You could give him MVP every year. Luka and the Joker top my list followed by Wemby. SGA is a great player but MVP? I don’t see why. He scores but not on a level like Luka and his assist numbers are pedestrian for a point guard (18th in NBA) while Joker is number one and Luka 4. And OKC is stacked as a team, to me that takes away from his importance.

Jokic PER is over 40. Wemby's PER is around 31. Shai's PER is around 32. Luka's is around 34

My No Homer MVP rankings are:

    1. Jokic
    2. Luka
    3. Wemby
    4. SGA
    5. Doesn't matter

My main criteria is considering what would happen to each team if you removed their main guy. Thunder would still be the first seed. Spurs would maybe fall to #3 at most. Lakers would be a play-in team, and Denver would be out of the playoff process completely.

They should just give a permanent MVP to Jokic and retire the award. Then give Luka the new, Next Most Valuable Player award because he for sure is with the redunkulous numbers he's putting up while also beating playoff level teams.

I agree 100%. Also it’s crazy to me too that all four of the top MVP candidates are from other countries than the US. The game has truly become international where it was long dominated by the USA.

Luka should never have been in the game at that point. This is on JJ. He's been playing 37 minutes a game.

He's had an issue with his hamstring for a while. You can see it when he runs.

It's easy to blame JJ, but if the medical staff cleared Luka, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to play. He is at 36 mins a game, right at his career numbers and nothing crazy for a superstar.
