The push/pull of the fanbase when it comes to Reaves is interesting to watch. Any bad game, and paying him max money is a disaster waiting to happen. When he has a good game the other side of the coin jumps in. I'm just hoping Maxi Kleber gets his.
Right, cause even the best players in the League never have bad games(Antman against us). Only a few short months and Austin will have his new Lakers contract and this silly “debate” will be a thing of the past.
oh, but it won't. but unless he regresses after signing the contract, it will be the same stuff, which mostly lacks validity for me. reaves is basically putting up a better season than devin booker. he's going to get the max because that is the rate for such players (booker's actually on a supermax).
And BTW.... what will get overlooked is the defense. Including switching onto Jokic and making it hard. Multiple times.
He’s got that clutch gene. Yeah, he got stripped, he had some bad turnovers, but he somehow finds a way to make stuff happen anyway a lot of the time at the very end.
Yep. In AR I trust. I actually never believed in clutch before that... (didn't see West and Kobe was all out all the time)... AR has it in spades. Ah and clutch MADE FTs.
Disagree. I think Reaves has shown he's capable of being a very strong 2nd option right now. I thought he was a better offensive player than AD three years ago already. The team isn't built for Luka+Reaves skillset right now so their deficiencies, namely playing defense, is highlighted. Get them some 3/D guys and lob dunkers and their game opens up big time.
I mean, I used to say “take us home, AR” in the GameDay 2 years ago. I also recall talking to people here saying that I “fear” that his resurgence is a flash in a pan. Couldn’t have imagined…
I never saw this play “to miss a free throw and tie the game” executed perfectly, usually it’s some broken play were everyone scramble for possession and a guy is lucky enough to recover (Luka) or tap it in (Kobe)… you need to be some sort of an angle calculating billiards master to hit and place it where you can easily retrieve the ball
