Okay I’m a say my s*** and then let yall have at it.

Wilt got his 100 he was clearly the most dominant player in the league. Great accomplishment.

Kobe in my opinion it was the best. In an era of hand checking and elite defense he got his 81 brining a team back and winning the game.

respect to Bam but he got 83 against a team full of rec league D leaguers. Teams players been scoring on the wizards like Crazy. This is the trash the NBA has turned into. With no hand checking. Shai!!!! 41 FTs!!!!!!!!! From a player??????? What the f***?????????

was this the 19 year old playing against the 8 year olds at at the YMCA???????

really Wizards??? Brian Keefe????? You call yourself a coach.

Kobe’s the GOAT. Kobe’s the man. Mamba forever. Okay rants done. I’m out!!!!!!!

Miami did everything to get him the ball. Bricking shots on purpose. Bricking free throws on purpose. Fouling to extend the game. Disgusting.

Anyone who actually saw Kobe’s 81 knows it was better than what we just saw.

Kobe’s was heroic. That was wack.

    43 free throws. Yuck.

@showtime24 I do love the idea of us getting one of OKC's 1sts and Dort. We'd probably have to send them either our '31 or '33 First in exchange, but honestly the potential for us to potentially draft Mara and either another Big or a 3&D wing, plus acquiring Lu Dort as a starting 3 would be a very savvy way for the Lakers to plug up a lot of our existing roster holes at once and still have plenty of free cap space and at least one more First left over to go after either Peyton Watson or Tari Eason, be it as RFAs or a S&T.
And again, I completely agree with you on Mara. That guy screams Future Laker to me.

kobe would've been the first one to congratulate bam. and not to mention that kobe's 81 was going to be surpassed eventually. luka and booker had already come close in recent memory. and there were other times were guys probably could've broken it if their coaches left them in all game

yeah, the 40+ FTA and the heat constantly fouling to get the ball back taint it a bit, but 83 pts is still 83 pts

As improbable as it may sound, say this now, in this order: Wilt Chamberlain, Bam Adebayo and Kobe Bryant.

They produced the three highest-scoring games in NBA history.

Adebayo, a center known primarily for his outstanding defense and impressive work ethic, scored 83 points Tuesday night to lead the Miami Heat over the Washington Wizards 150-129 at Kaseya Center.

“I don’t even know how to put this night into words, man,” Adebayo told reporters in Miami, sitting beside his girlfriend, WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson. “I feel lightheaded. I don’t even know how to really respond, for real.”

Do not fault Adebayo for almost being speechless. Although he is a star in his own right — a three-time All-Star and a five-time NBA All-Defensive player — no one could have expected this.

Adebayo, who has made strides with his 3-point shooting over the last two seasons, had a previous career-high of 41 points and entered Tuesday’s game averaging 18.9 points per game this season.

“This was just an absolutely surreal night,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “Obviously, we’ve been blessed to have been a part of a lot of big moments in this arena. This one, it just happened. Moments happen, you know? And I’m grateful that we’re all able to be a part of it and witness it.”

Chamberlain holds the NBA single-game scoring record, with his 100-point game on March 2, 1962. Bryant scored 81 points on Jan. 22, 2006.

With 1:16 remaining in the fourth quarter, Adebayo hit a pair of free throws to reach 83 points. The Heat took Adebayo out of the game a short while later. He finished the game 20-of-43 from the field and 36-of-43 from the free-throw line, setting two NBA records for free throws made and attempted in a game.

The performance caught everyone’s attention in the NBA.

In Milwaukee, after the Phoenix Suns defeated the Bucks, Bucks coach Doc Rivers asked reporters: “Is it true a human being had 83 points tonight?”

In Los Angeles, Minnesota Timberwolves players huddled around their phones in the visiting locker room before their game against the Lakers, watching the final five minutes. When Adebayo hit his final two foul shots to reach 83 points, players shook their heads in amazement.

“Wilt, then Bam,” Bones Hyland said. “That’s hard.”

In Houston, the Rockets had just defeated the Toronto Raptors. Rockets coach Ime Udoka said: “First thing you think is how, not because of him, but because of the way he plays. I saw he only made six 3s but 40 free throws or something like that; (that) tells the story right there.”

Then Udoka paused and said: “And the Washington Wizards.”

With their loss, in which starting center Alex Sarr was on a minutes restriction and played only 20 minutes, the Wizards fell to 16-48 this season, the league’s third-worst record.

Late in the game, the Wizards attempted to deny Adebayo the ball. In the fourth quarter alone, Adebayo attempted 16 free throws.

“There was a lot of fouls called, 16 free throws in the fourth quarter,” Washington coach Brian Keefe said. “(We were) just trying to take the ball out of his hands. He’s still got some free throws 40 feet from the rim. I can’t explain some of those calls.”

Later, Keefe said: “The fourth quarter just turned into not a real basketball game. But we’ve got to be better with our ball security, and we’ve got to own the fact that we let this guy get hot, and that’s on us.”

Yeah I'm thinking something like the 2031 1st + 2032 swap for Dort + #12, and draft Mara. OKC doesn't have the roster spots, and they are facing apron issues. Then, we draft one of the other bigs with #23. I rather get another rookie big than someone like Robert Williamas with the vet min. Lakers would still have significant cap room. I would buy out Ayton, and stretch him. Then sign Keon Ellis for 22-23 mill or so. Keon as POA and Dort at the wing, resembling the Wallace/Dort combination in OKC.

Tough to explain how a player like Bam, who averages below 5 FT's per game, randomly get 40+ ft's, though. I mean, nearly half his pt's were off FT's.

I just looked it up. It's the highest amount of FT's shot by a player in NBA history. Next closest was Dwight at 39 but those were hack-a-fouls.

Just seemed inorganic. For reference, Kobe shot 20 and was leading his team to a near 20 point comeback win.

Bam's entire existence in that game was to just keep scoring against the worst team in the league.

Congrats to Bam but IDK how any ref can think he deserves 43 FT's in a game unless it's just rigged and they want to see history be made.

I’m happy for Bam, but that’s a lame way to do it. 43 free throw attempts? That wasn’t even a real game in the 4th quarter. Kobe would have had 120 tonight Bam shot 7/22 from three and 20/43 in general.

Kobe would have a 30/43 night with 14/22 from three - give him 43 free throws on top of that and see you later.
