Interesting stuff. Can't sell fans on players like Peyton Watson to justify to massive hike in ticket prices.

Tanking out the picture. But would be epic if we missed out and got the number 1 pick.

Your quote inferred we had a championship team. No sir, we do not.

Win first, raise prices later. Just the correct order of doing things. Telling fans if you pay more, we'll win more? Bass ackwards IMHO.

Call me biased as an East Coast Lakers fan, but I care more about the team winning than I care for the team trying to find narratives to use to justify massively hiking their ticket prices up. IMO they shouldn't be doing that right now regardless- trying to justify it with a "LeBron James Farewell Tour" or "WE GOT GIANNIS NOW TOO" narrative is just self-sabotaging the team's ultimate ability to win.

As it stands, today's NBA is designed specifically to be as punishing as possible to these sorts of teams and the teams that ultimately succeed and go the difference are led by one or two superstars tops, then are surrounded by a ton of top notch role players with a lot of athleticism, in addition to being able to defend at a high level and meet a certain threshold of successful floor spacing.

    Completely agreed with this.

Nah. Seriously tho..I still favor the idea of trying to flip the 31 pick, for two FRP in this upcoming draft. My play would be Dort or Hartenstien and Watson, plus a couple of kids from this deep upcoming draft.

I completely agree with this. I've said before that a dream level successful offseason this summer IMO looks like us coming out with a starting lineup that roughly looks like the following:
    • Luka Doncic
    • Austin Reaves
    • Herbert Jones/Lu Dort
    • Peyton Watson/Tari Eason
    • Isaiah Hartenstein
If we can get either Watson or Eason out of the RFA market, nab Hartenstein and then either sign Lu Dort or trade for Herb Jones, that goes a long way in fixing the starting lineup to be more optimally designed around Luka long term. If we somehow manage to sign Watson and Eason in RFA and sign Hartenstein too, I'd be over the moon.

And as much as I adore Austin and want to see him and Luka have a successful tenure together leading the Lakers as a duo that wins multiple championships together, I'm getting to a point now too where I think there's merit to the idea of the Lakers sending him off in a Sign-and-Trade this summer or flipping him next trade deadline after resigning him to a new contract, if only to be able to farm up more trade assets to work with.

The problem with that idea though is that it'd still create another big problem for the front office to figure out ASAP; Luka needs a secondary high basketball IQ playmaker there alongside him, such as Austin or Kyrie and Brunson have done in the past. Not sure how many good options there are out there in the league who'd fit that bill and would be feasible for us to go get.

I feel like Austin would thrive in Orlando.

Franz to Milwaukee, Giannis to Lakers, Reaves to Orlando
Yup. But, Orlando does have a bloated payroll. They would have to get off some of their salary too. Maybe some combination of Suggs + WCJ + 33 1st going to Milwaukee, or something like that. Wagner? Bane?
