I hate Mr. Roid Rage but that a good deal for Draymond - Lakers could legit to small ball and kill it

People would love his moving err tough screens he would set up for Luka lol

Get thybulle on a buyout and I'd actually call that a very good trade season the Lakers

It's really odd the degree of which both he and Kerr have spoken about him potentially being traded. Typically rumors don't get addressed or discussed by the team, makes me think there's a real chance he could be moving.

Yeah. I’m not interested at all but he’s still got gas in the tank. Not the move I want but I don’t hate it either.

I will forever despise Draymond Green... until the moment he puts on a Laker's jersey.

I've always liked Draymond but don't want him on this team. Horrendous fit.

A dinasty contender is a team that contends for multiple years in a row, which should be our aim.

It's this convo every single year. People complain about moves that never existed. We literally have NOTHING of value. Even our pick is kinda worthless because it's expected that Luka stays long time. We only have Thiero as a project that maybe some teams might be curious about. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get the guys we need (Herb, Dort, Trey, etc) for any package we have now. So why the rush? You can't buy what's not for sale.
So yeah I think it's too much to ask because I haven't seen ANY deals we could have done in the last 12 months that could put us in OKC level. Do you? Please name them

Also, you're setting up yourself for failure. You're saying they have to use the 3 picks or else it's a failure, so you are the one setting an expectation by yourself and then feeling mad about it on your one. They have no and absolutely shouldn't have any pressure to use the picks. Sometimes the best deal is the one you don't do. We probably have a couple more championships if you hadn't done the Russ trade, for example.

Our situation is quite simple. We have a 41y old receiving a max. At the same time we have another max barely entering his prime. It's 2 completely opposite forces. We also only have 1 tradable pick and no guys that teams actively want (as buyers). You're in a limbo in that situation. While you want to maximize that old guy and contend, you know it's a short window and you don't have enough to push it this year and make you a clear contender, while you also have to prepare the next 10 years with your younger superstar. Each deal we do now, it's a deal less in the future, all while losing your other max for nothing, which will happen.

So yeah, you're left with trying to do whatever deal that helps you now but that doesn't hurt your future. There aren't many of those out there. So it's a step by step process. Don't do stupid deals for the sake of it and keep your assets dry, you'll need them.
JJJ left for 3 picks + 2 young guys. Bane 4 picks. Mikal 4 or 5. Anunoby the same. These are the type of guys we want to add along with Luka and AR so we can compete for titles in 2027, 28, 29, 30 and beyond. That's the goal, not wasting a pick in Wiggins or Grant just to lose in 5 to OKC or the Rockets in the semis and have to wait 2 more years to get a good player alongside Luka/AR

Be patient. If we do it right, we'll be contending for many years. The right deal will come. Until then, it's trying to improve little by little as we did with LaRavia, Smart and Ayton this offseason. There's at least 10 names in FA that can improve the team and I'm pretty sure many would sign friendly deals to be in the Lakers with Luka and have a shot in a contending team that is being built from scratch and you have a golden opportunity to carve a role (and many future dollars) as a core rotation piece.

As long as we don't wait for Giannis and are actively trying to find the right trades, I'm good

Are you actually reading any of my posts that you're responding to?

I said I think not trading a pick at this deadline and waiting until the summer is defensible. I never said there was any trades we could have made over the last 12 months that would have put us on equal footing with OKC. You say in your post that we should be making moves "so we can compete for titles in 2027, 28, 29, 30 and beyond". I said in mine that we need to be contenders next year, and if we're not contending next year Rob should be replaced. So cool - we agree!

Luka is going to turn 27 at the end of the month. The idea that we should be preparing for the next 10 years is stupid - everything in the NBA, especially with the new CBA, is a 5ish year window. We got bounced in the first round of Luka's age 26 playoffs. No problem, he showed up in February and the team construction was a mess. We're probably getting bounced early in his age 27 playoffs - okay, not ideal but it's hard to completely rebuild a team in a year. We can't squander a 3rd straight playoff run while this guy in his prime. So yes, if we're not a contender going into next year clean house.

So, the Mavs essentially traded Luka for cap space, 3 first rounders, a couple of 2nd rounders, and Max Christie?

Wow. OKC has picks to spare but thats’s quite a bit for a guy that IMO was fools gold last year.
