Internet giving a lot of flak towards Luka's performance yesterday, saying he ball hogged too much and goes for too many hollywood passes unlike @sirronstuff favorite player LeBron James!!!!

Even JJ going w/ the ball hoggers narrative for our loss:

Luka ball is only effective with spacing and needs to move the ball more and quicker .

Lebron athleticism makes his "next gear" more impressive ..

This wasn't Luka best game. He missed some bunnies, some odd decisions, and not taking the open 3 after the steal was WTF moment. But still like the Charlotte where he has some bad defensive moments he's not the reason the lakers lost.

I thought his defense for this game was pretty good

And more importantly Stop sticking him with lineup that are basically designed to neutralize him. You can't play Gabe Vando Hayes and then expect Luka not to try super human stuff

You joke, but Bron was running the offense a lot smoother. I’m glad to have Luka, but he can be a major ball-stopper and chucker, I’m not a huge fan of his style of iso ball at times.

It's tough because he has good vision and I don't think hes selfish but he's a home run hitter with his passing. I think the coaches should help him get the hockey assists by setting up plays where Luka is in the post where it easier to start the passing chain or the recipient of the hockey assist.

Yeah, Bron does that too. I really like how the ball moves better when AR is there. He has hero moments too, but overall, it was much better to watch.

Has to be a bit discouraging for guys on a Bron/Luka squad when both of those guys can be black holes for stretches of time. They take questionable shots under duress without even attempting to run the offense. Maddening. Kobe did it too.

    We need Austin back.
He is the best at getting everyone involved and rarely takes awful shots.

Luka Dončić has reached 4,000 career assists in the NBA.

In a game against the Clippers, Lakers point guard Luka Dončić recorded eight assists, bringing his regular-season total to 4,003. The Slovenian star passed Manu Ginóbili and moved up to 127th place on the NBA’s all-time assists list.

nothing special, but some positive news from loss

One thing I feel you do often is not allow criticism of your favorites. First it was AD, criticism was levelled at his availability, his shot disappearing and sometimes just playing flat.

Now it’s Luka and his bad shot selection, low effort on D at times and not trusting team mates.

It’s clear that we’re in a great position with Luka going forward than being in a rebuild after Lebron and AD. But that doesn’t mean we can’t ask for more from our star. Kobe had to learn how to win and the goat coach clashed with him because of it.

Well said..and I love Luka. I'm not entirely convinced, that we have a HC that he respects enough, to modify his game some or not though. We shall see, but personally, Id rather see Luka score 25 pts in a win, than 50 in a loss.

I also love Luka, it's kind of a given that we've got one of the best stars in the NBA that can be a generationally great player.

Doesn't mean that he can't improve certain aspects of his game to make us better - ie: getting back on defence and not arguing with refs, giving effort on D (although I suppose this will be fine in the playoffs), better shot selection (not a problem if he is hitting at 37-38%), getting the most out of his team.
