i've never been an mpj fan, and he's not fooling me this year. plus, he's a bad fit here. would not like such a trade unless it cost basically nothing, which it definitely would not.

I'd love to have someone like MPJ with Luka and Austin offensively. It would be great to have a legit volume shooter that can run some actions off-ball, would give us a different dynamic than we've had since I don't know when. But defensively, MPJ has only really worked playing low man/helper roles...which is where we need to put LeBron and then Luka once LeBron is gone. Plus I'll just never trust guys with a history of back issues having had some back issues myself.

 

it's this. also, i think he disappeared even as a third offensive option at times in denver. i think laker fans remember him hurting us in the playoffs a couple times, but that hasn't been the rule, and like any shooter, i don't trust his shot to survive putting on our uniform.

i'll be disappointed if we go this way. doesn't make sense to me. i'd pay more for claxton, tbh, and i think his price has been too high as well.

Just imagine this team if you can trade the deadweight (the dude whose nickname rhymes with Radio) and get KCP. Luka and Lebron are playing great. you got AR coming back. You got a good center/pf rotation now. you got smart/laravia. Just add some defensive punch man with some shooting and lets go!

 

Kcp is about washed brother. Rather spend that 21M per on a younger dude.

Of course if a young player is available for it but I'd rather use the expirings to get KCP is you got nothing else long term pan out.
I have bunch of guys ahead of him but guys liek Ellis/Monk, Thybulle all play for teams that never want to trade with Lakers

Insane? You see the difference with just putting Timme, out there for a few minutes? Another big will have way more impact, on the floor than a another guard. That's just swapping two expiring contracts for 1. One we could actually bring back next season, on a discounted rate. Ellis will get ate alive here, as the primary poa, and everyone would hate him soon. Like Gabe.

 

and JJ had to pull him after the Nuggets went at him on with simple blow-bys by roleplayers. Vucevic teams have never gotten past the first round and a big reason is he's even worse then Timme on D. Vuc has a negative 25 rating as a center on defense and he was a negative 50 last year on defense! that's bonkers for center

Hard pass I'm not going to respond anymore - I think this lakers going after Vuc would be insane and a complete waste of Lebron's final year and one of Luka's prime years.

 

Meh..I don't care about some metrics, it depends on how a player is used. That's why that stuff isn't viewed, as some kind of Holy Grail by all GM's.

That's a Championship quality 5 rotation IMO. We can improve the team defense in other areas. Bigs over smalls..always in my book.
