Amazing what he did with the team when no Luka and no LeBron in emergency performances, and how crappy the team looks without him available. Hell him being out makes the point how valuable he actually is.

And just my opinion Keon Ellis’s skinny a** isn’t the dude to put next to him, at least the only 2 games I’ve seen him play against the Kings. Invisible both times and nothing seemed to pop about him PLUS his bug on a windshield imitation when hitting screens. Maybe he hates the Lakers and tanked those 2 …. that’s possible I guess.

the lakers don't have anyone against whom ellis is useful, ironically. but almost every other nba team does.

Lakers on a BTB score 81 in the first half to beat ATL 141-116 in an ultra-rare laffer for the Lakers. Washed some of the bad taste of the SAC game last night out.

ATL had what looked like zero rim protection and Ayton went 17/18. Lakers shot an absurd 19 of 34 from 3: 56%.

    Lebron :31/9/10 in 33 mins
Luka: 27/5/12 with 7 turnovers in 33 mins. His 3 is starting to fall again, but he's missing a lot of 2 point shots. 7 for 16 overall.

Rui is back and it may have given the team a shot in the arm.

Kobe Butkin played the last 3 mins, attempted a 3 and hit it. I had to look it up: he's signed to a 10 day; Thiero is out 4 weeks w/an MCL strain.

I guess the big shocker is we went up 30 and didn't let the opponent back in in the 4th.

we kind of did let them back in. We had a 32 point lead and they got it back to 10 and then we got serious and had it back up to about 29.

Most points we put up in a single half this year against a young, long athletic Atlanta team. The type of team that usually kicks our a**.

BOTH Bron and Luka suited up in a back to back, while one is ancient and hadn't played a night 2 previously and Luka is clearly battling some injuries. I wonder if we won that Sac game if they both sit this one.

Not only did they suit up though, they combined for 58/14/22

Good team effort throughout, except for Q3, we played engaged defense. Gave up a lot of back cuts and didn't put up much resistance to NAW diving to the rim but the overall effort on a back to back was noteworthy.

The shooting was alien-esque for the Lakers. 19 makes on 56%. So that's what it's like to be any team other than the Lakers.

Team effort. Desperately needed what they all brought.

This was a quality win despite ATL's record. They have wing after wing, and LBJ and Luka did very well. The team performed well.

They're now 8-6 without Reaves this season. I'm keeping an eye there for various reasons.

Yea, I almost noted that. I began to feel like "Here we go again" and then we quickly went on a run. You're right though. ATL cut it to 11 or 9 or whatever for a few secs. I didn't even have time to get nervous.

I knew this Charlotte game was a loss a month ago. Young teams with athletic wings is this team’s kryptonite.

Putrid D as Lakers jump out to a 13 point lead, then sorta lose interest and CHA slams the boards and hits wide open 3s. Lakers lose, at home, to Charlotte, 135-117. I consider this an embarrassment.

Lamelo 9 for 17 from 3; Bridges: 5 for 7 from deep. Just two guys: 14 for 24 from long. It was like Steph and Klay in the day.

Lamelo 30/6/11 in 29 mins. What a game. He had 3 points at halftime, bombed out Crypto in the 2nd half, and celebrated in front of his hometown while the crowd was mostly: not amused.

I've lost touch with the culture, and I always understood getting a few tattoos, but WTF is up with guys like Kuz and Melo looking like The Illustrated Man from that old Ray Bradbury story about the traveling carnival? I know: I sound like an old man. 'Cuz I am one. We called 'em "coots" back when I was a young punk. Now I am the coot.

    CHA: 50 boards
    Lakers: 35

Lakers got 9 total points from the bench and 8 guys from the bench got mins.

Not sure if it was just lazy D or we just can't contain young, fast teams.

Luka went 39/3/4 and shot the ball well, 15 for 26 and made 6 of 11 3s.

The lack of defense with this team is a major downer.

I thought we were going to win this game, then at one point (in the 2nd Q?) they went over 5 mins w/o a FG as CHA clamped down on D. This is that CHA team that went into OKC and won by over 20. Wow.

If we lose we lose big, and tonight it was by 18, to Crypto boos at one point. If I had been there I probably would've booed too.

Lebron had a good game, again. But our D blew, so loss, and the Old Man was wincing in pain after a fast break layup and I expect him to miss POR.

Remember when we were 2nd in the West? Good times.

Lost a game we should have won

Letting these games slip along the way will cost us in the seeding for the playoffs

    Our favorite player

    Gabe 0-7

Reminds me of another brick layer we had...

Jake came to play 18 pts 3 reb 3 ast 2 stl

Team just isn’t good enough. Can’t defend. Can’t shoot. Can’t rebound. Lacks athleticism.

The league has changed and having two stars carry you to victory just isn’t going to be possible now.

you can't have weak points. you need 8 playoff guys and 10 regular season guys that can all be at least ok on both sides of the ball. our non-stars, with the exception of jake, are a clear minus on at least one side of the ball. the good news is that of the one-way guys, only vando is under contract next year (and if i'm picking one way, i'm picking defense).

the blueprint is out for us--you can get a good shot every trip down if you're at all patient. hell, if you're really athletic, you just straight line drive at everyone until the sea parts.

We'll be fine when Rui and Austin, are back and up to speed. Puncher's chance if healthy, in the playoffs as is. Legit contender with the right move.

An athletic young team that beat OKC and just hung 150 on the Jazz. Jazz are awful but 150 is 150. And knowing we can't stop a cold, I didn't even bother watching this one cause I knew we couldn't keep up.

Bench and defense do not exist on this roster.

i do think that people are somehow still underrating reaves and what a big issue it is not to have him on the court. but that doesn't solve what jsm said above. i'm just not seeing the tweaks that can get us into that top tier in the next couple weeks.

and before people say they won't be there in the summer...they might not...but both okc and denver should be forced to lose some talent this summer as well. and they're the two teams i just can't fathom beating this year under any circumstances.

in the short-term, gs is more desperate than us and WILL make a move or two at the deadline that will make them better. i don't buy for a second that they're just moving kuminga for expirings and calling it a day. moreover, they're looking for similar things to us (youth, athleticism) with more to offer in trade and basically zero concerns for the future (their top players are all old). hell, houston can still trump us on the trade market and is closer to competing with okc and denver right now, too. i'm just not seeing a path other than trying to maintain flexibilty and pick up an asset or two if possible.
