People have brought up the Bulls as a potential trade partner. With Giddey dealing with a hamstring issue and Coby White now out with a calf injury, they’re hovering around .500 and could be forced to reassess things. If we’re talking strictly marginal moves, they have a few players who could actually help. I think Abeer mentioned Dalen Terry, and others have brought up names like Ayo or even Okoro.

Jerry Reinsdorf is notoriously frugal, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Chicago become a seller by the trade deadline. I also wonder if AK could work something out with Rob involving a third team — especially since Daryl Morey has done business with Rob before. Just throwing out some possible scenarios.

How much cash do the Lakers have left to include in a trade? They've sent out cash before IIRC. I'm wondering if the could utilize their second round draft pick and include cash to make a trade happen.

yeah bol bol was a guy who looked like he had the skills and size but didn't make it - just can't create enough space to make room for boards and taking contact?
Lebron has been playing so long that people forget that it's wasn't Curry who was originally going to be his PG rival - it was Rose. At that time in the NBA pre 3 ball era, a big thing was that Rose and Lebron could attack the rim like running backs and take the hits. I think there is someting to that.

Even Durant has he really ever lived up to his billing? Durant at his peak was maybe the best pure scorer I've ever seen in like how the hell are you supposed to guard that from a pure physical and size standpoint - a mix between Dirk and Tmac but while he's had great playoff games and won finals MVP, he was never really the main engine of a Finals team let alone a title team.

Another young athletic blows the Lakers out

This was disappointing as the Laker had tied it up and looked like they had all the momentum only Sasser and Ron Holland to blow thru the defense with isos. Cade out the game away but those bench guys flipped the game

This team needs athletes and JJ can't seem to figure it out. Other teams just get every loose ball and just too quick to guard. I would really go with Theiro. The season isn't lost but teams have now game planned for this team and the Lakers can't handle it

Detroit is one of the better teams in the league, and we are missing two starters. It's not like we're stacked in the first place.

that's twice in the past week or so that we allowed 60% shooting for an entire game. crazily bad defense. just mind boggling. watching it unfold was crazy, too. you could see the gameplan was simply to run it down our throats no matter the situation, made shot, missed shot, whatever. just dribble the ball fast and in the direction of the basket and good things will inevitably happen.

Feels like it would just be a move for the sake of making a move. I don’t think he fixes anything for us if I’m being honest.

If we can retain Ayton and Reaves, at the very least we need to replace Rui and Bron next season for DFS-type 3&D guys. I don't think this is going to happen this season.

I have been around this type of organization enough to know that no one is going to throw in the towel this season, but realistically, I think everyone knows that come the playoffs, it will be exactly the same story as last year. We'll get swept by the first athletic defense-first team we face.

The DFS types tend to disappear on offense in the playoffs. If Reaves and Ayton struggle some to score, we are still getting knocked out in the 1st rd. We need another impact player to replace Lebron.

i'd like to take gs's slot there. they get nic claxton and keon ellis, two ideal fits with luka and reaves. i give them lebron (half kidding).

yeah, considering the warriors play a bunch of small guards already, i don't see the ellis interest there. claxton, definitely, but bkn has been asking a ton for him. if they wanted kuminga and a gs 1st, they probably could have had it this summer for claxton. hell, they could have just signed kuminga. so why eat hield's salary and move claxton just for one gs 1st?

anyway, i don't see the logic for several of these teams (the return for sabonis seems quite low, imo). this was a very warriors-friendly 5-team trade, and it seems like dallas and them are making out while sac and bkn are getting taken to the cleaners.

i DO think that AD to atlanta has legs, and i do think that young out of atlanta has had legs for a year-plus. so, yes, finding that third team that wants young is the linchpin. sacramento is historically the kind of organization that would make such a trade (they just did for lavine when nobody wanted him). i think NO is definitely another one to watch there.

I think Trae Young for Anthony Davis is definitely a trade that can happen.

when Kyrie comes back you pair him with Kyrie. I don’t think Kyrie is coming back so you can play Trae young for the rest of the season at point guard.
