AR/Rui/Gabe/Kleber for Giannis works salary wise, we'd be adding in whatever draft capital we have to trade too. I'd have a lot of concerns, though. First, Giannis already didn't want to run a bunch of PnRs with Dame, is he going to be okay doing that with Luka now? Giannis has also always wanted to play next to a floor-spacing 5, rather than playing the 5 for significant minutes himself. How does that work with Ayton, would we need to go out and find a new center? There are not many floor-spacing 5s that are actually good players. Is LeBron back to playing the 3 full-time? We'd be back to having basically no assets to build the team around Luka and Giannis.

I do agree, though, that we may still need to take some big swings. OKC is a monster and will be even after they replace their expensive role players with new ones. Spurs are coming. Nuggets will continue to be an extremely high-floor team. With AR becoming a Top 20 guy there is some temptation to just be patient and let it grow organically, but these other teams in the West are so good and poised to keep improving I'm not sure we can do that.

I kind of agree on Reaves, which is wild to say. I have a bias with Giannis I can't shake. Ugly, ugly game, but the results speak for themselves. I'm not sure if gutting depth and adding Giannis puts us over the hump this year. OKC is a wagon that would require us to develop cohesion at an unrealistic level. Could we position ourselves a year later? Possibly, but what could we realistically do where we'd feel confident mortgaging the future?

i might prefer bridges to anunoby because i think he's a better fit with luka/reaves going forward. great defensive versatility. and isn't he buddies with reaves? i think we could get his agent to steer him here. plus we have baby anunoby!

also, don't think bridges can be moved until february?

    no.
sk beat me to it, but i also remember giannis not liking the idea of setting screens.

they can outbid us even if we include reaves, i think. so if they want him, they'll get him.

yeah, we're already trying to play catch up in luka's prime. to me, the right play is to try to prey on the fringes of wherever giannis moves to gather guys that fit with luka/reaves going forward.

yet to be seen, and guys can always get hurt. you want to be in position to capitalize when some juggernaut gets an ill-timed achilles tear.

i'm out on giannis unless it's for lebron.

Also they have several bench vets who interest me to varying degrees if they trade Giannis that they'll be giving away for free.

    Portis as a 7th/8th man.

Trent, Coffey in the 9th/12th man role.

I can't do the Prince thing again, plus Ham might be on suicide watch if they're separated.

    Out on Kuz, as well

One team to watch out for is Brooklyn.

    1. Cap Space

    2. young players

    3. young players for salary to work Michael Porter Jr.

    4. Draft picks

    5. for Gianiss. They can then sign another free agent in the off season to pair with him. And you have New York it’s Brooklyn.

Giannis should go to San Antonio. Giannis + Wemby is a devastating 1-2 punch, defensively they’d be an all time elite duo.

Wemby can space or go inside for Giannis.

I’d try to keep Harper if I was them and send fox and castle plus firsts.
