If we're talking about long-term answers, I'm not sure Ayton is the guy either. He's been a great P&R partner for Luka and Austin and surpassed my expectations for him offensively, but defensively I think he's been just okay. He's pretty quick for a big, but not so much that he's a great switch defender. I don't think he's great in deep drop coverage, JJ has more so wanted to use his athleticism and play him closer to the level of the ball. The center has the biggest impact on a team's floor defensively, so going forward we may need someone that's better able to clean up mistakes if we're committing to a Luka and Austin tandem.

We'll see, that's a question for next summer. I don't even know what the options would be.

I think you can definitely have a potent defense and offense if your starting 5 is 3&D POA, Reaves, 3&D Wing, Luka, Ayton.

There’s enough offense there to cleave teams, and we just need some stops on the other side which that side is totally capable of.

See my problem with the NBA is Luka Harden won’t get that call when they throw their hands up and kind of lean they don’t get that call.

But Shai continuously gets that call. They said they were outlawing it in the NBA but Shai always gets it. And he uses it it’s a bate move. He did it against Durant too. You can’t guard him on that.

 

And I don’t care what no one say. That cap circumvention the Clippers are paying for it. I’ve never seen an NBA team ever destroy themselves in a trade like this.

when i saw him literally blow out a shoe in the first game i watched, i was like...this ain't happenin'. in a sort of awestruck way.

another guy i was interested in during the jhs draft who went a couple spots later, lol.

now, he's only 6'10" and pretty light, so he's questionable as a center. they're playing him at pf in bkn.

sga gets away with an offensive foul on like, half his drives. he gets to extend that arm on pushoffs in a way i've never seen anyone else manage. you allow luka to do that and he might average 50. if kobe could have done that...

anyway, i just don't find sga fun to watch. he's the guard version of kawhi. wondering if okc waltzes to the finals as it appears--and, predictably, nobody watches--if the league has a change of heart on officiating this guy differently than everyone else.
