Lukas having a Steve Nash type year on the Lakers like Nash had with the suns.

where Shaq should’ve won the MVP with Miami but Nash won. I’m just saying.

The Lakers provide the mismatch issues with LeBron Luka and Reaves. The spacing is so good. I haven’t even mentioned Ayton. That team is too good.

The Clippers are a terrible team. Harden is carrying them. And It’s clear Kawhi has lost a step. He’s just not the same at this point in his career. In his prime unguardable jump shot automatic. And lock down defender.

Zubac is a terrible liability on defense. Has no lift and just isn’t an adequate rebounder. He’s in there for offense alone. The Clippers don’t realize when Zubac is in there there’s no spacing. Collins can’t set a pick for anybody. Lazy picks equals easy defense.

…meanwhile the Clips and Warriors are imploding. Best start to the season for me in years.

We should've won that opening matchup against them, but alright... we'll have a chance to show them who's boss in February.

Those stats mean what exactly, about him being a good defensive center?

    http://insider.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/c

    http://hoopobsession.com/HOdefrtgFIVE.html

    https://www.nba.com/stats/players/defense?PlayerPosition=C

There seems to be multiple ways of looking at it, but he doesn't seem to be considered, a top defensive center, from a cursory glance, at several viewpoints on the subject.

He's definitely a defensive liability against us, Zubac at 5, is an exploitable mismatch in our favor, in a 7 game series IMO.

That hoopobsession link has Zubac listed above Adebayo,Horford, Turner, Gafford, and Hartenstein to name a few. Hollinger's stats also have him ahead of Adebayo,Turner, Allen, and Gobert.

Maybe he isn't a top defensive center, but the exact words in the post that started this discussion were "terrible liability on defense" and "isn't an adequate rebounder." Not seeing any data to support that take.

Well..let me expound on the subject...
(I said that he had a point), and if you have watched any, of our games against the Flippers, you already know that Ivaca is a "terrible liability " on defense against US. That is magnified times 3 with Luka! You guys know damn well, that we'd absolutely love to see Zubac at 5, playing 30 plus minutes in a playoff series.

He's lunch meat against Luka, Austin or LeBron. Is that clearer for you now?

Yep and he's rated worse in other charts posted. Ie he isn't a top defensive center. Tony Hawk is absolutely spot on, as it relates specifically to the Lakers tho...IMO

But we all know Tony Hawk's argument wasn't speaking specifically to the Lakers. The fact that you first took the time to post 3 different stat sources shows that even you didn't interpret it as only relating to the Lakers.

And again, nobody claimed he's a top defensive center. You're arguing against something nobody has said. I'm just confused over the defense of the Tony Hawk's post that started it all. It was not in any way isolated to the Lakers and is factually incorrect.

Nah..if you hadn't noticed by now, I really only care about how it relates to the Lakers. I said that he had a point, and he did, and still does. Don't assume to speak for me and my intent.

I didn't specifically say he was " terrible " but I get the sentiment, especially in regards to a Lakers/Flippers matchup.

I posted several charts on Zubac to show that he's looked at differently, depending on the measuring stick. You are free to make up your own mind, that's why I try not to only post stuff slanted to my position.

That Zubac at 5, is a terrible matchup problem for the Flippers against the Lakers?

    I concur.
