They are being cautious. Embiid missed a month with knee soreness.

Clippers will take as much old talent to not bottom out and make that a top 5 pick.

look for Derozen and Monk to the Clippers or Lavigne and Monk.

they want enough guys to compete and barely get in.

I also wouldn’t rule out an Anthony Davis to the clippers or a trade like a Miles Bridges or a Jerami Grant. They want guys good enough to keep them competitive and are willing to take on bigger salary to do that.

So..this article is rather amusing..the question put forth is...How are the Lakers winning all these games, while shooting so poorly? The author (Dan Woike)doesn't seem to have a clue, methinks it's because, we find a way to score more points than the other team! What say you?

I'm looking forward to see our stat guys around here, come up with the proper explanation.

I mean... the Lakers win by outscoring their opponents (while shooting poorly from long distance). Which means those opponents shoot even worse, it's not rocket science, really. And due to the fact that we have Luka & Reaves, we outplay them in the clutch every single time.

OK, let's be real: I know journalists are trying to find something to write about. But the fact that we shoot poorly from 3, simply means we're the best team in the NBA (well, us and Denver) in 2p %. People like Ayton and Jax almost don't miss in the paint, and everyone else is shooting over 60% for two points; from best to worst:

    Jax
    Ayton
    Smart
    Knecht
    Reaves
    Luka
    Rui
    LaRavia

And LaRavia is actually at 58%. Everyone else is over 60%, sometimes well over 60%. It's simple math. At least we're doing something well -- if your long range shot is not falling, you take the ball inside or shoot mid-range J. Our 3-pt shooting will improve for sure, but we're still not going to be among the best. That's the identity of this team.

Yeah, they just want to stay somewhat relevant so they're still seen as somewhat of a destination in summer 2027 when they have a bunch of cap room. Same thing Miami does.

I meant this post Utah reactions are surpising to me as they don't mention the loss of Ayton all that much

With Ayton this team looks night and day from last year, without Ayton we're back to the team that struggled with the Wolves (luka healthier, lebron older, Laravia is solid but lost DFS). Ayton allows Hayes and even Maxi to slide into appropriate roles, give the Lakers playmakers an absolute finisher to make all that PnR action work.

I really like this team if it can only stay healthy and can flip Rui for Smart among the starters
