Crap. An injury exception could allow them to rectify that big signing mistake with a more useful player.
yeah, did they pay someone to break his hip? did they fake the xray (only half kidding there, as ballmer's involved)?
Powell is so underrated, he was a major factor the Raptors won their only championship and was quietly forgotten
Yup. Traded away the future MVP for a guy who doesn’t even play for them anymore. Have sunken all their hopes into a cheating, liar who is always broken. Managed to turn all of their assets into an old team going nowhere. But, at least they have that shiny new arena in which their ignorant fans get to relieve themselves on the most comfortable toilets this side of the Mississippi. I have immensely enjoyed all of their choices blowing up in their smug faces ever since Ballzboy took over. Before then, I couldn’t care less about them.
sorry; you're too dumb to realize that they got george AND leonard!!! you see?! it was all that for BOTH guys. so it's still genius. do you see? please say you see. and then made the shrewd business decision to let george walk so they could open up space for powell who they'd then trade so they wouldn't have to pay him which would lead to...profit? edit: i'm not finished! the most delicious thing about all this is that you know the main reason they sold the farm for george was just to keep leonard from us. it was about us, not them. it's hilarious. and it killed them! had they just put their own interests first, they might have said "hey, this guy asking us to cheat on contracts and trade our entire team and future for a second-tier star maybe can just...go play elsewhere". but noooo....can't have the lakers look like they won FA. lol.
the irony of them winning the narrative to lose the war...i just love it. no notes. lee jenkins couldn't have crafted it better himself.
You forgot one delicious part: Year after year, the blowhard “experts” ALWAYS pick the Flippers at the beginning of each season to end up having a better season than the Lakers.
michael pina's whole journalistic existence is this, lol. and again, his apparent clipper fandom really is just laker hate. there's endless comedy in this. maybe once the leonard era is over, they'll learn from their mistakes, but their singular focus on beating us out kept them from capitalizing on ballmer's billions and the brief bubble where it created a tremendous competitive advantage. which is great.
