There are some things you can do but it comes down to o almost
Teams are going to pound him, I know I would. He would be getting his points from the free throw line after getting up off the floor. Nothing dirty, just hard aggressive play. You can't stop a guy like that but you can make life difficult. On the other end keep him fighting through screens. On ball, off ball, where ever he is screen him. Coaches get paid to be creative, make the dude work. Wemby has the right attitude to come at you. Be a lot of fun.

Thunder going to play OT again.
    Is it some record ?
And Shai already had 19 FT
    Are you f***ing kidding me

The last time Houston played in two opening games in OT in 2001. Oklahoma became the seventh team with this start

Jailblazers are back. Billups is done. Definitely didn't expect that from him.

Rozier is done. Fact that the league let him come back after their "investigation" only for the FBI to still go after him really puts Silver in a tough spot that he created for himself. Not only does he have to throw the book at both of them, he has to change how any and all league investigations are handled to regain credibility and not seem like the complete farce that they are.

    2 OT.Shai with 21 FT
It should be some kind of record to open season with 2OT games

That 141–135, 2OT, 91 free throws game is going straight into early-season legend status. Shai’s 55 on 26 FTs looks unreal even in print

The more I think about it, the more I agree with @ElginTheGreat. I think this is curtains for Silver.

This might not be that big of a “sexy” trade idea, but I think the Lakers should try to trade for Saddiq Bey. He was an up and coming 3 and D wing defender, and I think his game is actually a lot like Dorian Finley-Smith.

I think Bey has been forgotten about because he’s just coming back now from a torn ACL, but he’s 26 years old and the type of player this current roster needs.

He’s a solid wing defender and has played 25-30mpg consistently throughout his career, averages 1 steal a game, and had 2 seasons where he averaged a 38% and 40% 3pt shooting.

He’s currently on a reasonable contract, making 6m/seasons for the next 2 seasons.

He would be a good role player to try to have around a team built around Luka. If the front office is trying to build continuity, it’s by trying to assemble as much great pieces that can fit together for long term instead of cycling through 1-2 year contract players. He’s the type of role player that could stick around for a reasonable long term extension if we find the fit works.

The Pelicans might actually entertain the idea of Knect + multiple 2nd rounders, but it might have to be more because I don’t know if Knect has any trade value around the league right now.

Wemby has gone from 210 before being drafted to 245 now. You have to imagine he gets to be about 280 in his prime. Jokic is about 285, so he won’t be getting pushed around for long. It’s same as KD and Giannis, at the beginning physicality bothered them, but now that’s a fools errand.

Watching Wemby in preseason, I saw him out muscling players by using his leverage. And it’s not like Dallas are small, they threw AD, Lively, PJ and Flagg at him - all good defensive players. Guys a problem.

As for him on the defensive end, he covers a terrifying amount of space, he can jsut anchor the paint in a 1-4 zone and Spurs force the worst shooter to shoot from outside if they don’t want to attack the paint with penetration.

Man Nikola Jokic is funny... born to ride horses, but forced to be the best player in the NBA.

A few guys are going to be done and honestly, I will be surprised if Silver keeps his job. Problem is, the owners probably don't want to do the work to replace him.

Aaron Gordon had an excellent shooting season last year after lots of work on his shot. He is a really nice role player, also a bit of a mediocre rebounder like Rui.

I get the fact that the NBA probably mishandled the Terry Rozier case but I don't think it's intentional.

It's tough to prove something like this from the NBA's end because they aren't a federal agency who has the capacity to dig for more info, subpoena individuals, etc.,

If they don't have the proof, the players Association union has to represent the player legally against the NBA. So from the NBA's perspective, you don't want to start accusing players of doing something they may or may not have done because now you lose the trust of the players.

I don't think they necessarily ignored it as much as they didn't have the capacity to do more, knew they didn't have enough to take any action, and just hoped it wasn't actually true.

FBI can access files or evidence the NBA can't so I'm guessing they have witnesses, offered them a deal, and that witness(s) ratted people out.

Apparently this case has been going on for years so the FBI wanted to send a message to the NBA just as the season started.

Whatever the case is, I'm willing to bet that a large % of NBA players, personnel, trainers, coaches, etc., are doing this on the side... It's like insider trading for politicians at the NBA level. It's literally free money. The problem is they got caught being too greedy. Why would you place a heavy prop bet on a miniscule game with a rather trivial player and not think it would catch the booker's attention? If they did it with smaller amounts, intentionally lost a few to clear suspicion, and played it safer, no one would notice.

Personally, I think Terry is screwed.

How would a random person on social media know Terry was going to leave the game early? My guess is Terry leaked it to some idiot friends of his, they ran around spreading that info, and it made its way everywhere.

I’ll just repeat - an NBA coach and multiple former/current NBA players were in the pocket of the mafia directly manipulating the outcomes of games.

The NBA “investigated” and cleared at least one of the people involved.

There are few ways a scandal can be any bigger than this.

I don’t know that anyone in a position of authority right now in the league can survive this kind of scandal. Someone will have to be thrown to the wolves. This is a very real test of how much the owners like Silver and depending on how many of them knew what was happening they may still not have a choice but to get rid of him.
