Five Guys needs to step it up. We looked like a team with no chemistry, as I expected.

I think (or hope) he will use Smart better moving forward.

Beyond that, he’s got who he’s got and has to learn how to use them or the coaching carousel will be spinning again.

our shot distribution was exactly what kerr wanted. now, part of that was guys missing shots allowing gs to stay with their game plan, but part of that needs to be solved with some creativity (like when kerr used steph as a screener as mentioned above).

    He was/is a bad hire .

He's all about small ball , offense and 3s when championship ball is about length , defense and rebounds.

ALSO he and his coaching staff can't get his team ready to play games .

Lakers weren't ready to play in Game 1 in last postseason and they weren't ready to play this season opener either .

    POOR PREPARATION

Choosing to out shoot one of the better three point shooting squads is just dumb.

JJ won't be going anywhere, and we inexplicably for no reason gave him an extension already. He's our ride or die apparently, so hopefully he grows into that role. He's a smart guy, so I guess him and his merry sickos will figure it out.

What concerns me is his marriage to small ball lineups. The NBA is trending back big (thank goodness) and JJ doesn’t seem to see that.

He didn't use any small ball lineups last night.

I want more from JJ. Our defense scheme doesn't make sense, he's gotta maximize this team

The bigger concern is he doesn't use lineups that maximize the potential of 5 man units: I've already talked about the use of Smart IMO.

In addition, his offense is way too much headhunting to get his offensive engine (Luka, Lebron, AR) mismatches and then create offense off the mismatch. Not a lot of set plays to maximize the group

i agree, but i'm told tyronn lue is an absolute genius when this is pretty much how he organizes his offense year-in and year-out.

stop being such a hater of my man Tyronn and he's an ex-laker to boot. It's funny because Lue's most famous play is of course getting Kyrie Irving matched up 1v. 1 against Curry in a game 7 but Lue definitely runs more action to get secondary players better shots: i'll be interested to see how Norman Powell does this year becuase I do think Lue helped him a lot with his schemes.

    I consider Gabe/AR//Luka as small ball. It’s a 3 guard lineup.

6'2", 6'5" and 6'8" is now considered small ball? I blame Wemby.
