I hope we end up top 3 again lol even by default like last year

 

with lebron, we're comfortably in the top 6. without him, we're an 11th place team in the west. i'm not sure why that's shocking, though. again, we pay him max money. teams can't have max money not playing or not playing like a max guy. it's death. everything else breaks.

like, vando is a 9th/10th man on our team if lebron's here.

i just don't see how game 1 is some sort of referendum on team building or the obvious indicator that we must make panic trades (imo, wiggins for whatever riley wants is a panic trade--unless riley is taking vando's contract back).

we're likely going to lose more than we win while lebron's out, and no amount of summer shuffling was going to change that.

The key information I want to get as a Lakers fan is when the new ownership is really going to take over and change things ..

 

To be clear, I don't expect a panic trade.

It's not the front office's MO.

I do expect them to make a move sometime between Christmas and the trade deadline which is how they tend to operate.

As with most seasons, there are definitely guys that teams are going to want to move or who will get bought out, etc. To their credit, I think the front office has navigated those options about as good as any team could especially factoring in Luka.

I thought I heard that would take place toward the end of the year/early next year last night but don't see confirmation of an actual date.

I feel like its going to be a dogfight in the middle of the West again this year. We got two tough matchups off the jump, but if we can stay in the middle while LeBron is out, I can see us making another real run once the team starts to gel in the second half of the season.

-I don't hate myself so I didn't watch the Philly game but Embiid...20 minutes, 1-9. Yikes. Rookie did work though with 34. They ready to move on to the Maxey and Edgecombe era and flush the Embiid + PG1.3 era?
