Reaves is looking like he could hit Manu’s peak offensive contribution this year. Not sure his defense will ever be on Manu’s level and we still have to see if he can do it in the playoffs. But I think we are in his prime right now, so I’m expecting him to be a 20+ highly efficient scorer while LeBron is out.
He's as good as I've ever seen him. He's making some superstar level shots even. I'm pretty sure he will have the best season of his career. He may struggle in the PO but that's something we can care about later. Really looking forward to see him this year
Do you guys remember the feeling you got in 08, whenever Kobe got the ball, he could just score. He might not jump over a defender anymore, but he would jsut finesse his way to his spots and get a shot off. Reaves is giving me a small semblance of that. Luka had that swag about him 2 years ago. Like, it doesn’t matter who’s defending, they’ll just shake them off and hit a mid range, a 3 or scoop in a layup.
I love me some Austin, since day one and even bought his shoes. I don’t have half the confidence in him as I had in Kobe because I haven’t seen it in the playoffs yet. That being said, I’m expecting HIM to exorcise those demons this time around.
We've seen it PLENTY in the playoffs. We've also seen some less than good games from him and some bad shooting games, and some of that going on when he was dinged with types of injuries that could affect all of that. You can't say you've never seen him do well in the playoffs. To a higher level even and moar consistency with the good games we all hope for.
Yeah, I was being a bit unfair and just referring to his lack of consistency in last year’s playoffs because he seriously underperformed.
This is a huge season for Austin. If he wants to be considered, as a legit 2nd option in this League, this needs to be the best campaign of his career. That includes stepping up in the playoffs. I'm a believer, that's my guy, but my son thinks, that we should trade him to Dallas for Lively and Max! Lol.. he thinks that's better for Luka. I think that he's been hanging around my brother, too much lately.
in his defense the refs crapped on him and hIs coach hung him out to dry in the non-Luka minutes - AR as you're only ballhandler we know doesn't work. He's a playmaker who needs to play with one more guy who can handle the rock
It’s all Austin’s fault the entire team was awful defensively. It was his fault that Ayton can’t score over a smaller Green or old man Horford. It’s Austin’s fault that the entire team couldn’t hit a three. It’s Austin’s fault that this team isn’t athletic enough. It’s Austin’s fault the entire team shot poorly from the charity stripe. It’s Austin’s fault Butler gets MVP treatment from the refs.
The only thing I would ask of Austin is to start in attack mode. We need him from the jump because it is him and Luka.
I can agree with this. Since the end of last season, many here have blamed Austin for all our issues, so I’m just laying along.
Not bad Arkansas. Thought it took him a bit to get going, maybe because Luka scored a zillion in the first Q. But once he got going, he looked like who we hoped we were getting against Minny in the playoffs. Only we didn't know he was hurt during the last match up.
