I'm with you on this all the way. That same old lazy tired argument over and over is crazy. No one that watched the tape on Jake would agree with that. Quite frankly, the racist comments that get thrown out in LB, regardless of direction or intent, are a terrible look. We have younger people browse the site and these kind of comments are not cool at all.

New interview

 

What a gem of a pickup. Smart as a whip and has confidence he’s only going to get better. I rarely sit through 30 minute interviews but I couldn’t put this one down with the great questions and real informative answers about who he is as a player and “knows” he’s a guy that needs to replace what DFS gave us. Solid and driven player. LOL Redick was on that first call out of the gate in FA with Rob and Jake said to him all excited, Dude I used to watch you play!!

And he’s got the same great attitude about it as Reaves …. OK y’all have me pegged as the white (inferior) player …. bring it let’s compete! Everyone makes predictions around here so here’s one of mine. Jake will be more valuable to us this season than DFS was last season considering he slowed down too toward the end with the ankle issue. Not to mention the year after next with their careers trending opposite directions because of age. LaRavia just as fast or faster on perimeter D and disruptive, and there’s more to his all around game.

 

I didn’t know facial connotes something bad… I don’t know why you would think so, unless…

In that 30 minute interview above there were 2 interesting / funny comments from Jake about AR kind of as bookends … early and at almost the end. Since there was that in car/truck interview with Jake before FA opened where at the very end it panned over (surprise) to Austin driving, plus the other video in the gym shooting together and fact they have the same agent … he was asked if AR was a factor in him choosing the Lakers. Straight forward he said, “no” and then thoughtfully he went on to explain it was about looking at teams who were the best fit and needed the kind of player he is. And he was aware at some point it seemed DFS wasn’t returning and that he was that kind of player they could use with minutes available.

And then funny at the end …. either Trevor or the other guy mentioned remembering how Jake always seemed to play well against the Lakers when he was with Memphis. He was smiling and agreed with that and said he always wanted to “cook” Austin when he went up against him. (Competitive spirit against a friend and agency stablemate was the tone)
