You can't be soft and be a Laker No 2 ways about it He needs to get his head straight for his benefit and the teams They should be having someone in his ear helping him over come this With the new owner and influx of $ we can afford things like that These little things add up to our advantage
So true Man can you imagine having that kind of talent and abitlity? I would be doing anything and everything I could to improve my game and my mental outlook Some of these guys just take it for granted and have been the star for their entire life and can't handle no being treated like that Pressure makes diamonds or carbon Let's see how this works out
I’ll say it again …. this needs to be JJ for crissakes …. since HE was THAT guy and not only him but direct his player development staff as well as to what exactly his practice regimen needs to be on Dalton’s own time AND no more losing temper and yelling at him because he’s not real bright out there. The kid is soft mentally. Opposite of Bronny. Remember all the jokes when DK had to share the mic Q&A with “make a wish kid” Bronny on Media day last year?
the lakers offense was terrible in the summer league you had literally no pg play out side of Bronny everyone was just trying to get theirs DK needs a good playmaker around and players that can cause defenses to hang off him, watching those games, I would've been frustrated playing with that team.
If someone did NOT understand how valuable a good point guard is, watching this summer league team would be a good watch for them. This team has no concept of team basketball. Bronny is OK but even he falls prey to the mentality at times. This is what playing on a lousy TEAM is all about.
Again …. RJ Davis was the PG and distributor for N. Carolina and that ain’t chopped liver. But do agree, and with HIM not drafted himself I seriously doubt re-habbing DK’s fragile psyche was high on his list out there. But DK still got plenty of 3s to shoot and it’s on Him that he’s not making them currently if he’s not injured.
Dalton has been super disappointing. And it’s not just the stats, it’s that he’s playing like he doesn’t want to be out there, and there is little to no growth in his game. Bronny looks like he actually wants to get better and has been working hard on that, Dalton looks like he’s satisfied. It’s possible that rescinded trade just ended him here, and he needs a change of scenery.
He wants to be wanted and needed. There's life partners for that. This is big boy sports. It's not always going to be like that. Maybe he's ailing and we're all prematurely dumping on him vs cheering for his rugged willingness to play through pains. (lol)
I'd agree, but in reality, at Tennessee he was still a player with enormous offensive volume, possessions, and opportunities to create plays himself. Knecht's problem since he was drafted is that he hasn't improved in a number of key areas, but at the same time he's almost distorted his game by trying to be much more of an off-the-ball scorer and a catch-and-shooter.
I think the PG stuff is overrated for DK. He was killing it in garbage time last year, able to create his shots. He was also playing against many non-nba players in SL, he should have done much better. He's either severely mentally affected or actively punted. I don't think it was a scheme or personnel thing
Forget about this kid being a trade asset, we might have to attach a pick to get rid of him. I kid, but seriously what happened?
This is not the dude we saw last year. No he wasn't perfect but he showed flashes at least. Yeah he almost got traded but I just don't get it. He's a guy whose clearly had to work not being heavily recruited and slowly moving up the college ranks. He had to believe in himself and work? Sucks to be honest as I love his tools you just can't teach his hops and shooting touch. Oh well the league is filled with guys who had the tools but couldn't get it together
