…. Naw I’m in wait and see mode with DK now man … NO idea what to expect. But I do doubt Mark Walters is about selling low on rare and hard earned assets. And it really is on JJ to FIX this one or it was all lip service about developing the young guys, especially one right in his wheelhouse.

    What the ..
Lakers vs. Mavericks became a must-watch rivalry following the shocking Luka Dončić trade in February. But the two teams are also the biggest draws at the Las Vegas Summer League this month as the debuting Cooper Flagg faces off against Bronny James.

The average purchase price for Day 1 of the Las Vegas Summer League on Thursday is $201, per data from resell ticketing platform TickPick provided to Front Office Sports. That’s the highest-priced ticket for Summer League on record.

The get-in price for a general-admission ticket is $83, while courtside seats are going for more than $2,500.

A ticket grants access to all seven Summer League games played between the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion, though the Lakers vs. Mavericks matchup is scheduled for the primetime window (8 p.m. ET tip-off).

My guess is they are expecting the Lakers and Mavs stars to show up and support their players.

To pay 200 $ just to see LeBron,Davis or Ayton eating tacos it's stupid IMHO

Well he traded him once but rescinded the trade after medical evaluation. There’s no point in trading Dalton just for the sake of trading.

Pretty certain he was available for someone like Kessler but Utah’s price was too high. Miami is asking for Rui, Dalton, and a 1st. Even if they settle for Dalton, 1st, and expirings, that’s a lot to give up for a guy they’re actively shopping and who has been trending the wrong direction for a couple of years.

It seems evident Dalton is available, but there’s no benefit in making a panic trade that’s a poor use of his (currently limited) value.

Some people got money or spend money stupidly.

Who are we to judge? The prices are what they are because an algorithm thinks they can get that much.

A lot of them just want to see the next great number one pick in Flagg plus it’s the Lakers.

yeah, we're under no real pressure to do anything here. we can develop him for two more years if we want. if he's moved, i want it as part of a clear upgrade or for another young player with upside who doesn't fit well in their current situation.

The question is whether he's going to get enough minutes here to actually develop. I'm also not sure we are the right spot for him to expand his game, i.e. become more of a movement shooter. Somewhere like Miami with a more egalitarian offensive system could unlock him I think. I'd love to have a legit movement shooter, we haven't had one since I don't know when. Thought we were going to get it with Beasley but he sucked with us.

Surreal how bad he has been, it wasn't in my bingo card.
Definitely tanked the valuation of a FRP some of us were doing in mock trades.
We can't trade him until the season starts and he starts to play some games and people forget the SL.

    Goddamit

The bigger problem is I don't see his place in our rotation. I think LaRavia is ahead of him in the rotation, so he'll struggle to rebuild his value.

I agree he's the 11th man in the current roster, behind Gabe, Goodwin, LaRavia and Vando in the backcourt/wing bench spots. But that's an injury/rest away of playing regular minutes. And he's the best scorer in the backcourt bench unit, so he may jump in specific matchups

If he becomes playable, having him and LaRavia around Luka can be massive. 2 knockdown shooters that can make a pair of 3s each in a couple minutes and really swing a game

But yeah, hopefully we add Melton/Smart to the backcourt rotation which pushes him a slot lower

I'm now thinking we may dump him at some point for multiple seconds to open another roster spot and get extra 2nds that can be used in some deals

Should have held him out of sl if we weren’t going to roster a pg.

oh well, he’s ours now, for better or worse!

RJ Davis is a PG I thought and was the primary ball handler for N. Carolina? Though a scorer himself so maybe since not drafted his heart wasn’t in helping DK find HIS mojo again.

Dalton’s head is just messed up for whatever multiple reasons and zero confidence in his shot. Weak mentally to get to THAT place (compared to the absolute ridicule Bronny went through last year) … in addition to being not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yet we all know he’ll get to some other team and re-capture his shooting and blame will of course be thrown at the Lakers.

We were just a bad landing spot for a guy who wasn’t a defender. He CAN shoot, summer league stats be damned.

pretty confident he’ll do well elsewhere, but I knew we didn’t believe when we traded him.

I’m just mad we killed the trade value. We can’t even get multiple seconds for him right now, imo.

he knows he's in trade rumors all offseason. Can't do much for the ego and confidence and sense of self worth. But when you are on a team with two all time greats, sometimes moves are made for the greater good. If he can't prove he belongs NOW, then maybe we do have to go a difference direction. If you are so mentally soft trade rumors are making you suck, how will you do deep in the playoffs with professional hecklers?

Meh... You cats are brutal..That boy can hoop, he shouldn't even be in the summer league, and I seriously doubt that potential trade teams, really give a s*** about his summer league stats. Fit and opportunity means everything for these young guys.
