No way I’m giving up Rui and DK for Wiggins.

any combination of Gabe and Maxi and you can get it to work for Wiggins.

Really would not give up Rui - LAL needs to increase the number of players JJ can trust in the playoffs and right now the Lakers have 6, assuming Laravia and Ayton work out.
Lakers need more playable bodies - they have top end talent already so getting marginal upgrades like Wiggins over Rui doesn't really help that much. You need to get up to a playoff rotation of 8 bodies.

I mean I think it will work out but the Lakers lost DFS who may not have as much talent as Laravia or Ayton but I'm pretty sure every NBA coach is going to tell you they are going to play DFS over those two in any big game so technically the Lakers have lost players that JJ trusts coming off a playoff rotation which was just 5 dudes.

yeah, i think it's important to understand that miami's kind of been openly shopping wiggins.

i'm also not sure i help them clear any future salary until luka signs an extension lol.

I could not find a combo that the Trade Machine accepted as legal. I'm sure there is one, or else the FOs would not have talked to each other, but it escapes me.

I think the Heat are in the mix for Kuminga, if they ultimately get him maybe they'll more easily part with Wiggins. Unless Wiggins is going back to GSW in that deal.

Does Denver have any money left? I doubt we're getting Horford anyway, but they could become another suitor of Valanciunas goes back to Europe.

No reason for the Heat to do this. Gabe and Vando are net negative contracts. Knecht is the only asset in this trade and if the Heat are still trying to compete, makes no sense to trade the better player by far in this.

Swap Vando for Kleber and now both Gabe and Kleber are neutral value because they’re expirings. Knecht is a positive and you can add in some swaps to make it work for them.

It just comes down to whether they want to move on from Wiggins. They may very well ask for 2 of 3 in Knecht, a first and Rui. I think Knecht and a 1st is the highest I’d go.

Rui’s too valuable as a Lebron replacement next year.

    Luka / Melton
    Reaves / Goodwin
    Wiggins / LaRavia
    Lebron / Vando
    Ayton / Rui

i'm thinking he'd have to, right? kuminga's RFA and the heat don't have the money it would take.

whoa! would suck for denver; great for everyone else.

that trade was totally nonsensical for sac, anyway, i think.

Are you guys across how much of a mess the Pelicans front office is? My lord. I haven’t seen worse trading than the moves they made at the draft.

They traded the pacers pick from next year back to the pacers for the 23rd pick this year. (Next year’s pick is the year Halliburton will miss and will surely be a good one)

Then they traded their 23 and the better pick between theirs and Milwaukees next season to move up to 13th on this years draft board. Their PG has a torn Achilles and so did Milwaukee’s.

They’re just making trades with no concept of future risk. Dumars and Weaver are really terrible. I’d test the water for Herb Jones, I’m not sure if we could appeal to them but surely getting a pick back and some swaps for optics might pique their interest. Add in Gabe and Knecht and maybe they’d do it.

Right. I feel like we went from them dumping Wiggins for cap space to suddenly we need to empty the cupboard for him.

I would be fine with him on a reasonable deal but I wouldn’t make any of the deals I’ve heard the media floating.

Yeah. It’s even more of a dumpster fire than usual. What’s worse about the pick is apparently the other team called to verify that it wasn’t a mistake giving Dumars an out but he went forward with it. Crazy times.

I’d definitely see if we could get Herb Jones.

Crazy times. Feels like that time when the league allowed teams to amnesty contracts.

Hard pass on Wiggins for me, especially at the quoted prices.

If he could be had on a straight swap for Rui + Kleber maybe thrown in a 2nd, I would do it. No way I am giving Knecht or a 1st for a player who's older and really inconsistent like Wiggins.

What wing as good as Wiggins is out there that we can get?
He seems like a really good fit, but yeah we should play hard ball and save at least 1 of Rui/DK/1st
