what's the number next to the jamaican flag about?

anyway, let's get some updates. for people who supposedly know about secret plots to destroy free agency via gossip, they sure don't know s*** about what's happening with ayton.

I'm sure that we'll try to have our cake and eat it too. Buy low on some talent with a minor trade, and it pays off in three ways. 1. You get production/talent above the money you spent. 2. You have Bird Rights on a productive young player 3. You just turned that asset into potential draft picks or players, if you don't want to pay the tab,on a big extension for them later. Win, win scenario. Regardless of picking up Ayton, I think Rob will circle back on Kessler, maybe try to flip Shake for Whitmore, Houston can waive Milton. I'd try to put a bug in Ben Simmons ear too, he's 28, if he came in on a vet minimum, there is still a chance, that he can salvage the rest of his career, if he played well. He's not going to be a headliner, but he could come here and turn into, a Caruso type of defensive impact player. That's worth MLE money, and maybe a draft pick for us in a S&T, if he got a big offer next summer.

It's early, we have some options available .

Ainge will probably try to claim him off of waivers in spite.

aside from ayton, still holding out hope for melton. we can accept S&Ts now, so we could move gabe or kleber for melton or melton + an excess net (dariq whitehead, anyone?).

yeah, this year's prize of free agency was a scrapheap pickup like laravia a couple years ago.

    wouldn't surprise me.

that loophole was closed a couple cbas ago--guys with non-guarantees can't be traded without guaranteeing/picking up the option, etc.

i also don't think houston moves whitmore within conference...just in case...

i'm on board with simmons, but i'm guessing he'll want a bigger role than we can promise.

still pretty light on trades, and my top two FA targets are still on the board...

No offense D-Fish but Therio, LaRavia and Ayton (no accident that fell into his lap) are going to wind up being low screamers off the centerfield wall. He's 3 for 3 so far just getting started. NO assets, picks, expirings even touched yet. Maybe take the blinders off with your hate and wait past day one of free agency?

Yeah. Free agency just got started and there are players we can grab.

I honestly don’t know that anyone who is off the board at this point is someone I was dead set on us obtaining. I always thought we would have to kind of see how things shook out given the overall lack of real targets in positions we need.

I think we go ahead and get the Ayton thing wrapped up. Hopefully today. I think he’s ours to lose but would just feel better if we locked that in.

From there I think we can work the trade angle and free agency to replace what we are losing with DFS.

Between Rob, Duffy and Klutch I think we can get some things done.

Ayton only clears waivers tomorrow. So I believe we won't know until then

Hey man, we are usually in the same lane, unless we are talking about Westbrook. Lol

I can’t find it anymore but there is a longer version of this clip I had seen that gave me the impression that this is NOT Haynes having inside knowledge or speculation that the Lakers have some nice moves lined up

It seems moreso a joke at our expense, because previously there was some buzz that the Lakers would have their center in Day 1 of free agency. So it’s more like he’s sarcastically moving the goal posts

I'm not saying Rob is doing a marvelous job, but you make a great point. We also will likely sign Melton today, I think. With that said, we kind of got lucky with the agent connections for Ayton and LaRavia. Also, L.A. ties with Melton. The draft pick trade was pretty creative on Rob's part though, having moved up twice.

I know Haynes didn't seem concerned about Ayton going to the Bucks, but that extra 6 million they can offer scares me.
