    ^ true that.
As for the debate on him vs. Jokic. I rather have Luka... Nicola will wake up one of these days and just say "f*** it, im staying with my horses, im done with basketball". He'll send a text to Denver's GM and that will be all.

Luka is kind of like my cat.

My cat is 20 pounds, but hes not a chonkster. He does look bigger but he's still able to jump, run and climb 3 stories of pure wall (thats how he ran away and came back to my APT level)

Sure, if he lose a pound or 2 he'd be more fit but he can still do everything any other cat can do.

One thing maybe Luka can do is use his 'heft' to his advantadge, kind of like what traditional SF/3s used to do. He definitely can take a guys into the post, but at this age I'd hope to still use the athleticism he still has left because he's too young.

he already uses his size on those slow down drives where he just gets the guy on his hip/back and uses his power and touch to get easy layups.

it's defensively where he could use a little more mobility. and tbh, once lebron retires, luka will move into that defensive spot, imo (guarding 4s primarily instead of 3s).

no team plays a pf that would be successful posting luka. this is what houston did with harden later on.

if houston and denver can build good defenses around jokic and harden, we can build one around luka, even in his current condition, tbh.

The Mavs were able to do it with not just Luka, but Kyrie (who tries defensively in the playoffs, but is pretty small) and PJ Washington (who's quicker than Rui but not some great stopper on the wing either).

washington is a lot quicker than rui laterally without being much worse in terms of playing spot backup 5. that was a valuable piece to get next to luka, imo. the good news is there are players out there like washington who might be floundering in the wrong situation. just need to find them.

There are over 300 players in the NBA, being in the top 5 range is outstanding. I don't get the big deal.

We just want our best players to have the body of Thor, the availability of AC green, and the speed of a young Kobe Bryant, while also being a closer and a defensive stopper all in one. Is this too much to ask?

jokic is built like windhorst. these guys need to stfu.

telling him he can't play for the national team is not going to make things better.

So...7 years and then he'll come pair up with Luka?

    Cool!

The NBA is rigged. AD gets traded to the Lakers. Pelicans get #1 pick the next year. Luka gets traded to the Lakers, Mavericks get the #1 pick the next year. Cavaliers got the first pick after LeBron left the first time multiple years. Ridiculous.

i believe NO got the pick before AD was actually traded.

anyway, as i've been over--if it's a conspiracy, it requires A LOT of people to be in on it whilst keeping their mouths shut. which leads me to believe it's not.

keep in mind that for this situation to be rigged by the league, they'd have to have...injured kyrie irving? because the mavs were going to make the playoffs before that happened.

anyway, i think the mavs just got extremely lucky, as did we that their gm decided he hated their franchise cornerstone.

curious to see how he looks with the national team this summer. i think he needed more time to get over that calf injury (which was part of why dallas ultimately traded him--they disagreed on how much time he should be missing). once it's right; let's see if he doesn't look a little more fit out there come october. i'm expecting it.

keep in mind, he's not going to drop 30lbs like a lot of people want. but i think he might show up 10-15lbs lighter and be better for it.
