    He's technically right. That backcourt is below average. But since we rely on Lebron and AD so much, we want role players in both those spots as opposed to stars. Also, in Bill's defense, what he was saying about Howard, almost everyone on this board was saying about Howard.

    i mean, focusing on the back court on a lebron/AD team is...selective. it would be like focusing on the C Bags frontcourt (which is as bad or worse than our backcourt) and ignoring their vast abundance of talented perimeter players.

    Well, our back court is doing the job - and their job is to

    1. play defense and be tough in general
    2. Knock down open shots and
    3. Not be careless with the ball

    They are not asked to be great playmakers or big scorers, so the back court is actually quite solid.

    I agree. They fit better with Lebron and AD. What Bill Simmons was saying was on paper, they are not a great collection of individual talents. But the pieces all fit together. At the point Simmons was saying this, we were saying a lot of the same things. How is the backcourt going to shake out? When will Dwight blow up?

    If you look at the date of this tweet and remember that Demetrius Jackson was still on our roster late into camp. Bill and Zach Lowe were doing their season preview. that is what your hearing. Still doesn't excuse Bill from craping all over our team but this is nothing new.

    Also, it's not fair to say we have a "below average" backcourt when we've heavily invested in our front court. In the same manner, a team that is backcourt heavy will most likely have a below average front court too.

    By the way. Cookie's Doom posts are one reason I really began to like this site when I first ran across it last year.

    The first Doom one I ever read was a particularly special one, posted on one of the holiest days of the Laker season . . . February 7, 2019. In Boston. Rondo emerges from the brawl under the Laker basket to sink a buzzer-beating game winner.
