Just checked out a cool article on Reggie's draft history. Wanted to add in the Reggie factor to the Need/Availability stuff.

--Raiders satisfy their greatest need and get a likely stalwart for years to come.

--Either O'Neill or Okorafor both have tremendous assets (athleticism for O'Neill and size for Okorafor). Either could begin rounding into a future LT. Both will need work.
--Okorafor met all the Reggie stats.

Rasheem Green, DI, USC
-Rated 6.0 on NFL.com
--The only player that I might change my plans for. He won't be ready for a huge role this season, but he's going to be a beast.

It's worth noting that Green is rated higher, and he meets all the Reggie stats. So let's keep our eyes peeled. Green, if available, could shoot to the top of the list. Both DI and OT are needs.

--Unsure.

Geron Christian, OT, Louisville
-Rated 5.53 on NFL.com
--If, for some reason, we don't go OL in Round 2, we could pick up an OL here. Harrison is a bit of a question mark, and he may be the type of player the Raiders want to avoid. Tremendous athleticism though. Christian can play both Tackle spots, so he'd be ideal - slide in at RT now and slide over to LT when Penn sails off.
---At 298, he's a couple pounds under Reggie size.

Hand and Christian might be higher on Reggie's draft boards than Settle.

--Hamilton is apparently an incredibly high character guy who had some big numbers over his college career. St. Brown is a personal favorite of mine, and although he at times was neutralized, he also a) blocks well and b) was a clutch player.

Floated out there...like scenario one better BUT draft DL Vea and resign Bowman me good with.

Then Dez that Bryant guy that SI thinks we could try to sign. Nelson and Bryant on the outside, Cooper in the slot? Not bad...

 

Dez would do wonders for this team. I’m not opposed to Vea. Supposed to be a beast.

 

I know he’s a Bronco, but CJ Anderson was waived. PFF’s 6th-rated RB. It’s not an ideal situation, as we have $ committed to both Lynch and Martin, but Anderson is probably better than both.

 

It was brought up somewhere where Anderson could be a cap casualty and that's happened... Agree with you.

 

Raiders exercise Cooper's fifth year. Good, but he's due a giant raise in 2019.

They also have added Daryl Worley (CB, Eagles, Panthers). He rated as one of the worst CBs in the league last season (58.9 rating, 89th at his position) and violated a few league policies...

 

Since Mayock has said that Roquan Smith will be gone and has suggested Mike McGlinchey, I'll admit I'm kind of excited. I like both guys, but if McGlinchey ends up being the guy, I'll be stoked. Notre Dame OLs have had good success in the NFL, with 15 OL drafted in the last 17 years, including three first-rounders, and McGlinchey is one of the best.

Since 2000, they've sent three Centers, including one first rounder - Jeff Faine (56 Career AV, 124 starts) and a sixth rounder - John Sullivan (career AV 57, 109 starts), to the NFL.

They've had six Guards drafted, including Zack Martin in the first round (four-time Pro-Bowler, two-time All-Pro, 48 AV, 64 starts, in only four years) and his brother Nick who was a 2nd round pick (started 14 games last year).

They've had six Tackles drafted, including Ronnie Stanley (6th pick) (27 starts, 14 AV so far in two seasons), Mike Gandy (48 AV career, 106 starts), Ryan Harris (3rd rounder, 38 AV, 70 starts), and Sam Young (13 AV as a journeyman).

Among 1st round OLs recently coming out of Notre Dame, the pedigree is impressive. The three of them have averaged 12.3 starts and 8 AV as rookies, and one of them was both a Pro Bowler and an All-Pro. For comparison's sake, Rodney Hudson and Osemele were 9 AV, Penn was 8, Jackson was 7, and Newhouse was 6.

Number 1 run blocking grade among left tackles (95).
Grade of 90.6 from PFF is the best of all left tackle prospects.

I think they trade down. Seems to be the consensus of a qb is available. Maybe add another mid round pick in the process

 

Honestly, with Conley and Melifonwu on the roster, those three would be tremendous talent. Can they get onto the field?

 

Miller is very good but I feel this is too high for him. He probably would have been around in the second. Sign Bowman!

No. 79 to the Steelers for WR Bryant. I like him but I hope he has his s**t together off the field.

 

I tried to steer clear of trades, as they complicate things. I think that after Mayock's mock draft, people were wondering about dealing the pick. Smith and McGlinchey were the guys Oakland was reportedly targeting. They went 8 and 9, I think.

 

So, without an LB, but with OT and WR presumably addressed, day two could look different. Gotta look at some LB options. Wouldn’t be surprised if we snag DI anyway.

Love the trade from 10. Like the 3rd for Bryant. Not loving Miller at 15. Seems a reach.
