They get what they deserve. Hard to feel bad for them at this point.

I was actually having this same conversation with someone. The problem for Marvel with promoting female characters is that there biggest names are pretty much all Xmen. Storm, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Jean Grey, etc etc. Sue Storm will help as well.

25 million for She Hulk is just criminal. I just don't get it. If you're going to try out a lower level character, why not at least keep the budget within reason. Do a movie or something on Disney plus with enough cash to make it good but don't go overboard. That way you can at least see how the audience responds and go from there. Instead they pumped tons of money into characters that were never even really that successful in the comics.

I think the success of Guardians really caused them to think they could just make a movie or series out of anything.

I honestly have no problem with pushing diversity whether its people of color or women. But Hollywood always learns the wrong lessons from its success stories. Black Panther and the Spiderverse movies gave us a good stories built around good characters and that's what made them so successful. They also wisely introduced Black Panther in Captain America, established that he was a force and then got him in his own film while the iron was still hot.

Instead of following that blueprint and building up a handful of characters they just kept throwing out new ones AND giving us bad stories around them. Even when they did get it right, the characters disappeared completely. We haven't seen Shang Chi in almost 3 years and I actually liked that movie a lot. Even with Captain Marvel we've only seen her a couple of times here and there since Endgame.

I'm glad they are course correcting but its crazy how far the ship went off the rails here.

Now that the strike is over, we have the release schedule:

Not worried about Deadpool, Ryan is too involved for that one to fail.

Don't f*** this up for Harrison Ford. Just don't.

And Marvels post credit hit the interweb, don't like how he looks but like that it means they're involvement is coming sooner than later.

Clips keep getting pulled so here's a screen grab

Saw The Marvels last night and while I can't say its a good movie, I didn't hate it. It was...fine. I don't think anyone needs to rush out and watch and it definitely isn't going to change your mind if you don't like Captain Marvel, but it was okay to me overall. The post credit scene is definitely a big reveal and sets things up for Deadpool and Secret Wars.

So, not a home run but also not as bad as I think some of the reviewers are painting it.

On the other hand, I loved Loki and thought the season finale was really good. You can tell they actually had a thought out plan and arc for the characters from minute one and it plays out great. Definitely worth watching.

The rumor is that the reason that one post credit scene looks so terrible is because it was a last minute addition to try and drum up some interest in seeing the movie. It's why it leaked and everyone knew about it when Marvel is typically pretty tight lipped. It's sort of like when Superman showed up in Black Adam. They rushed that in when they saw the movie was not looking good.

I hate movies with time travel and all but Loki is pretty damn good. Still, new MCU sucks donkey balls.

Seeing as Marvel has been a train wreck that crashed into a dumpster fire since Endgame, this could be a blessing in disguise.

But at this point, I think people are just over it.

Wondering if they to the Rhodey route and just recast or completely pivot to a different villain. Now that they have X-Men and Fantastic 4 in house, i'd go that direction.

For recasting, I've seen Boyega and Aldis Hodge's name kicked around by fans. I'm a big fan of Hodge, he's great in City On A Hill (Kevin Bacon Boston cop show), so I'd be in favor of that one.

John Boyega saw his name being bandied about to replace Majors as Kang. This was his response.

I'm good with this recast. Also lets Marvel further pivot the story since the multiverse is not landing the way they hoped.

Very, very excited about that one. I loved Logan and both Deadpool movies, please don't screw this up Marvel.

I don't think Ryan will let them. This is his baby and he's too involved in every aspect for it not to succeed. Plus the fact that he sold Hugh on their story/vision and convinced him to come out of Wolverine retirement for this (after a 10/10 final landing in Logan) and to go through the grueling workout routine again to bulk back up... there has to be something really interesting here worth all of our time.

If Ryan wasn't elbow deep in all of it, then I might be concerned based on Marvel letting go of the rope during the last phase (excluding GoG3). I think they understand the importance of this being great and need it to be a huge hit and be the domino that sets the up for the next big run -- hence Deadpool being their sole theatrical release this year.

Yeah. I think Marvel is really trying to right the ship. They cleared everything out to let this movie reset things. I'm pumped.
